Barbara Fanning Baldwin went to be with the Lord and Jesus Christ on November 30, 2015. She was born January 5, 1924, the daughter of Edmund Sturgess Fanning and Margaret Joralemon Fanning on Maple Grove Farm where she lived for 20 years. She lived the remainder of her life on Fall Brook Road in the home built by her husband and father.

She lived the remainder of her life on Fall Brook Road in the home built by her husband and father. Timothy C. Greene passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 29th 2015.
He lived in Tacoma, Washington. Tim was 54 years old, born June 29, 1961. Surviving relatives are daughter Bethann Greene of Asheville, NC; mother Donna Greene of Ogilvie MN; brother Fredrick Greene of Blaine, MN; sisters Sue Carey of Royal Palm Beach, FL, and Totie Justice of Grand Forks, ND. Preceding him in death were his father Theodore (Bob) Greene and sister Carlynda Greene. Richard G. “Rick” Foust, Jr., 61, of Troy, (Columbia Twp.) passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home. Rick was born in Troy on September 29, 1954. He was one of five children in the family of Doris (Carl) and Richard “Dick” Foust Sr. of Ft. Meade, FL. Rick served in the Army and Marine Corps. He found his calling to dairy farming early in life and enjoyed working at the Ferguson and Landis Farms near Alba and the Case Farm near Sylvania. Rick also drove truck in earlier years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, working on his Jeep, bowling and playing darts. Rick also was a big fan of the Troy Trojans, especially football. Rhonda Elizabeth Ward Carter passed away on Thursday November 26, 2015 at Waverly Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Waverly Tenn. after an extended illness.
Rhonda was born in Troy on April 4th, 1953 the fourth daughter of Robert and Rowena (Mingos) Ward of Troy. She attended Troy High School graduating in 1971. Rhonda is survived by two sons, Chris (Emily) Carter and Robert Carter; three grandchildren all of Nashville TN, three sisters: Gayle Finogle,Gloria Gates & Roxanne (Lou) Atkinson all of Troy. She will be greatly missed! A memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family. Lorraine Shisler, 77, of Shunk, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Bradford County Manor. Born in Bucks County, Sellersville, PA on October 21, 1938, Lorraine was a daughter of the late Wilmer and Ann (Godshalk) Cressman. She attended the Kulpsville Elementary and Intermediate Schools and in 1956 graduated from North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA. Lorraine’s first job was with the Borough of Lansdale as an assistant to the borough secretary. She maintained her interest in government affairs throughout her lifetime. Lorraine married Robert Shisler on Sept. 5, 1958 at the Kulpsville United Church of Christ by Rev. James T. Rubright. She was a devoted wife and mother and they were blessed with two sons. Lela Smith, 86, Canton, PA (wife of Jasper) went to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ, suddenly and quietly at home on Wednesday afternoon, November 25, 2015. Lela Virginia was born in Boone, NC on November 16, 1929, the twelfth child and eighth daughter of the late Millard Isaac and Zora Cisco (Moretz) Castle. She attended the one-room school at Beech Flats until it closed and graduated in 1948 from Canton High School. On September 2, 1950, Lela and Jasper S. Smith were married at the Lutheran Church in Hughesville, PA by Rev. Herman Steumpfle. They resided in the Canton area during their over 65 years of marriage with the exception of four years in Burlington where Jasper was pastor of the Burlington United Methodist Charge. During the early morning hours of Sunday, November 22nd, 2015, William Taylor Sheffield, Sr., passed away quietly at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was 86 years of age.
Born August 18th, 1929 in Ether, North Carolina, he was the son of Elijah and Eulla Sheffield. He served our country with the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and was a POW survivor. After twenty years in the Navy Mr. Sheffield retired as a Chief Petty Officer. The mechanical engineer training that he received in the service served him well in his civilian employment with Dow Chemical Co. He was married to the former Leona Lessard, and together they raised six children at their Canterbury, CT home. For many years he served faithfully with the VFW, as well as other leadership positions in Connecticut. He was a well known member of his community who loved to be outside working in the garden and watching the birds. Later, he retired to Grover. Robert “Bob” Reigner, Sr., 84, of Canton, PA (Ellenton Mtn.) formerly of Flourtown, PA passed away at home unexpectedly Friday evening, November 20, 2015. Robert Augustus, “Bob” to family and friends, was born on August 28, 1931 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Ralph R. and Harriett (Wadenphuel) Reigner. He served our country during the Korean War. Bob was a devoted husband and father of five children. He was married to the former Ann M. Rohrbaugh for 51 years before her passing on October 28, 2006. Working in the plumbing field all his life, he owned and operated Reigner’s Plumbing and Heating Company near Philadelphia until retiring. Bob was an avid outdoors-man, especially enjoying nature, hunting and fishing. His memberships included the Canton and Flourtown area’s Veteran Clubs and the Canton Moose Lodge 429. Edith C. Watkins Berry, 89, Troy, PA went home to be with her Lord Friday, November 20, 2015 from the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Edith was born in Elkland, PA on October 16, 1926 the only child of Joseph and Ruth Stevens Case. Edith attended Troy High School. She assisted her first husband Howard E. Watkins in the operation of their farm in Springfield Township, PA for many years until his passing on May 9, 1988. In May of 1993, Edith married Marvin Berry and the couple made their home in Springfield Township. Edith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and always had great compassion for others. Edith was an avid reader and was passionate in reading her Bible daily. She enjoyed bird-watching and in her younger years she enjoyed hiking and traveling. Edith will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Ethel Hicks Cole, 97, Canton, PA went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, November 19, 2015 at Rose View Center in Williamsport. Born in Canton on September 15, 1918, Ethel Louise was one of three children of the late William Grant and Alice E. (Pierce) Foulkrod. Ethel married Charles F. Hicks on March 22, 1935. They raised five children before his passing in 1985. She later married Frank Marshall Cole in 1989 and he predeceased her in 2002. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Ecumenical Parish in Canton. Ethel was a well-known “Avon Lady” in the Bradford County area for over 30 years. She also worked at the Belmar Factory in Canton and at Weldon Manufacturing in Williamsport for a time. She especially enjoyed gardening, the beauty of all flowers, reading and sewing. Mrs. Cole belonged to the Red Hat Society, Foxy Ladies and Hugga Bears. |
