Affectionately known as Lucile she was born in Troy on March 17, 1931 daughter of Charles & Edith (Parmenter) Simcoe. She was a graduate of Troy Schools and was married to the late Clarence Oliver Baxter.
Sarah Lucile (Simcoe) Baxter, age 83 of Troy, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Bradford County Manor.

Wilma Nichols Horton passed away peacefully Friday, February 27, 2015 in DuBois, PA surrounded by her loving family.
Wilma was the most devoted mother, wife, and grandmother and loved and cherished by her entire family for her tireless dedication to all of their lives. Wilma was an active letter writer and communicator to all of her family including her three sons, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Wilma always gave more than she received emotionally, physical and financially. Charles K. Schucker, age 90, of Troy, passed away February 27, 2015 at the Troy Hospital.
Charles was born November 19, 1924 in Sylvania, son of the late Mark & Mary (Neubauer) Schucker. He and the former Alice Smith were married November 30, 1951 and celebrated 63 years or marriage together. On the evening of Sunday, February 22nd, 2015, former Canton resident Frank Disbrow passed away peacefully at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte with his beloved wife at his side. He was 74 years of age.

Born June 14th, 1940 in North Bergen, N.J., he was one of ten children born to Edward Albert and Mary Christine (Jorgensen) Aymar. After graduating high school Frank studied in Maryland to be a HVAC mechanic, as well as an electrician. For seven years he served our country with the U.S. Army, including service in Vietnam. Phyllis Jean (Soderquist) Sheets, 85, longtime resident of Austinville, PA passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital after an extended illness. She was the loving wife of Charles N. “Charlie” Sheets. The couple married October 1, 1955 and had 59 happy years together. The funeral service to honor Phyllis’s life was held on February 24th at the Austinville Union Church, Columbia Cross Roads, PA., with her pastor and friend, Rev. Kenneth Marple, officiating. Burial was in Tioga Memorial Gardens. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. was been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Phyllis was born on August 29, 1929 in Wellsboro, PA, daughter of the late Richard and Thelma (Sherman) Soderquist. She was a graduate of Wellsboro High School, Class of 1947, and after sold Avon for many years. Phyllis’s life centered on her family and church. “Art” Shoemaker, age 75, of Albany, Georgia, passed away peacefully February 14, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Lugene, in Georgetown, Florida following a brief battle with cancer.
Art was born September 6, 1939, in Alba, son of the late C. Max and Lucille (Andrus) Shoemaker. He graduated from Troy High School with the class of 1957 and served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1960. On the afternoon of Friday, February 13th, 2015, Betty Lou (Quackenbush) Jackson of Troy passed away at Robert Packer Hospital as the result of injuries sustained when she was struck by a motor vehicle. She was 60 years of age.
Glenn Pratt, 94, Trout Run, PA passed away February 13, 2015 at The Gatehouse in Williamsport. Born June 29, 1920 in Gamble Township, PA near Rose Valley, Glenn was a son of the late Joseph and Edith (Sellers) Pratt. After graduating from Ralston High School, he served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Glenn earned the rank of Corporal and saw action with the 283rd Field Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, The Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns including The Battle of the Bulge. James L. Bailey, of Millerton, PA, 79, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Jim was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Daniels) Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Teresa M. (McGee) Bailey; their children, Jim (Anne) of Troy, PA, Tim (Renee) of Gillett, PA, Edie Smith (Donald) of Millerton, PA, Sharon Steever (Mike) of Teleford, PA, Betsy Button (Byron) of Tioga, PA, Christine Cross (Dan) of Tioga, PA; sisters, Joan Hale (Paul) of Florida, Barbara Harris (Howard) of Elmira, NY; brothers, Bob (Joan) Cape Vincent, NY, Dick (Kathy) of Elmira, NY, John (Kathy) of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. |
