JESUS IS LORD! www.pepperfuneralhomes.com Kathryn J. “Kay” Harer, 95, East Point, Liberty Township, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Manor Care North in Williamsport. Born April 10, 1922 in Jersey Shore, PA, she was a daughter of the late Adam C. and Ida Yaggie. Kay graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1939. On Dec. 16, 1944, she married the late Edwin S. “Ebby” Harer. They shared 61 years until his passing on Feb. 28, 2006. Kay was a member of the East Point United Methodist Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be remembered for always putting others first, especially her family. Kay had many jobs through the years; she and Ebby owned and operated Edmont Farms, she worked at Carey McFalls, Wundies and was a waitress. Most importantly, Kay loved being a dairy farmer’s wife and raising her children and grandchildren. Some of Kay’s passions included gardening, canning, baking and bowling. She also enjoyed family gatherings; always making sure you didn’t go away hungry. Surviving are her children: Ronald Harer, East Point and Jeannie (Bill) Banks, Montoursville; grandchildren: Eddie, Angela, Tracey and Tim; five great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lil Yaggie, Canton, several nieces and nephews. Virginia A. “Blondie” (Butcher) Ward, 77,Granville Summit, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Troy Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Virginia was born on March 24, 1941 in Roseville, PA, daughter of the late Harry A. and Margaret I. (Schofield) Butcher. She worked the Honeycomb Line at Eureka/Paper Magic in Troy for over 30 years and enjoyed reading, watching birds, and spending time with family and friends. During the early morning of Thursday, March 28th, 2018, longtime Troy resident Scott H. Campbell passed away at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He was 59 years of age. Born in Morocco, North Africa, on May 24th, 1958, he was the son of Richard M. and Rae L. (Chapman) Campbell. The family relocated to Puget Sound, Washington, where Scott resided until enlisting in the U. S. Army. It was while stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, that he met Constance Mayers, who was also a soldier, and in time the two were united in marriage, sharing 32 years and raising a daughter and son. Scott enjoyed spending time with his children. He was a fan of hockey, football and NASCAR, and was fond of fishing and camping. He was a man with a quick sense of humor and friendly demeanor, always laid back and nothing seemed to phase him. Rebecca R. Saxon, 92, Towanda, PA passed away March 25, 2018 at Towanda Memorial Skilled Nursing Unit. Rebecca Rose, “Becky” to family and friends, was born April 1,1925, near Leroy, PA on Barclay Mountain. She was a daughter of the late Anthony and Lillie Mae (Barnett) Dinelli. Becky was married to Donald W. Saxon for 50 years before his passing on Sept. 24, 1996. Her life revolved around her loving care for her family and home. Becky possessed a strong work ethic throughout life. She was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing, reading, crocheting and all types of flowers. Surviving are children; Donald (Julie) Saxon, Sullivan County, Ernest (Sue) Saxon, Mountain Lake, Melissa (Matt) Kinsman,Towanda; daughter-in-law, Diane Saxon Lumberton, NC; grandchildren; Kevin (Becky) Saxon, Keith Saxon, Brenda (Ed) Dotter, Timothy Saxon, Betsy (Shane) Walker, Mike (Troveda) Saxon, Jeffery (Sara) Nash, Dennis (Rachelle) Kinsman, Samantha Kinsman, Jason Saxon, Frannie (Paul) Gage and Tai (Rob) Robinson; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, sister; Reba (Wayne) Warner, Herrickville, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Esther Dinelli, Towanda and Franklin Vanderpool, Sheshequin, several nieces, nephews and cousins. H. Leonard Latchford, 71, of Bentley Creek, passed away unexpectedly into our Savior's arms on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Leonard resided in Ridgebury Township for more than 47 years. Born on Aug. 5, 1946 in Danville, PA, he was the son of Harold and Betty (Fornwald) Latchford, who both preceded him in death. With Len, family and service to others were his priorities. He was a member of The Big Pond Lions Club, a life-member of the NRA, a former Little League coach, former Boy Scout/Cub Scout leader, a Navy Vet and a Tri-County MAC member. He most recently was employed by 5 Star Limo of Elmira, Kalec Funeral Home and Athens Area Schools as a transporter of students. Floyd K. Van Noy, 76, of West Burlington, passed away at home while surrounded by loved ones on March 23, 2018. Born May 17, 1941 in Sayre, Floyd Kenneth was a son of the late Kenneth and Gladys (Wilbur) Van Noy. He was a graduate of Troy High School’s class of 1958. Floyd married the former Dianna Hillyard on November 12, 1960 at Elmira’s Northside Baptist Church. They were blessed with 57 years together and raised seven children. Floyd worked as an independent truck owner/driver for 35 years until retiring in 1989. He started his career by hauling lime with his father and then drove for Smith’s, Halls, Jones and Wickwire Companies. Floyd loved his family dearly and they made him very proud. Most enjoyable times were spent supporting his grandchildren’s activities, especially wrestling. He liked playing horseshoes, card games and square dancing. Floyd also was a loyal Red Sox fan. He enjoyed football and took many trips to watch Penn State games. Galen C. Yoder, Age 63, of Route 6 Troy, passed away Friday evening at Robert Packer Hospital.
Galen was born April 28, 1954 in Sellersville, PA son of Clyde Yoder and the late Lydia (Detweiler) Yoder. He was a graduate of Christopher Dock High School. On November 1, 1975 he and the former Deborah J. Moyer were married and celebrated 42 years together. Galen was employed by MASCO Electrical as an Industrial Electrician. For the past several years he and Deb have operated their Beef Farm on Route 6 in Troy working together and along with their late loving daughter Charrissa L. Yoder. Donald V. Cole, 94, Gillett, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Woodbrook Assisted Living in Elmira. He joins Pauline, his beloved soulmate, who passed away two years ago to the date on March 22, 2016. Born in Gleason on March 21, 1924, Don was a son of the late Clyde E. and Ethel E. (Burkey) Cole. After graduating from Canton High School in 1942, Don began his 44-plus year employment with H. Rockwell & Son Feed Mill in Canton. He married the former Pauline Wilston on September 1, 1945 in Canton. Don was a member of the East Canton United Methodist Church and later enjoyed attending the Fassett Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Buck Horn Hunting Club in Ogdensburg. Don was always willing to help others in need. He enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling. He and Pauline spent several winters in Florida, took many trips to Canada, saw Alaska and visited the West Coast of the United States. The family wishes to thank Woodbrook Assisted Living for the wonderful care and companionship Don received the past year and a half. Alice M. Snyder, 86, Milton, passed away March 21, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born October 18, 1931 in Freeport, Long Island, NY, a daughter of the late Paul and Caroline (VanNostrand) Satteson. On July 25, 1949 she married Elwood W. Snyder, who survives. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Alice attended Milton schools. She worked for 18 years at the former Canford Manufacturing, Canton. She spent most of her life raising and caring for her family. She was of Presbyterian faith, formerly attending church in Canton. |
