At her graduation from New Brunswick High School in 1942, dozens of chairs were draped with American flags for her classmates who had already gone to serve our country in World War II. A cradle Episcopalian, she was serving as organist at Saint James Episcopal Church in Edison, New Jersey, when on Palm Sunday,1945, the choir director, Elsie Schweitzer Waldmeyer, introduced Lenore to her son, Ernest, who had just returned home after being wounded in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. Lenore and Ernest were engaged on Palm Sunday the following year, and married that June. They shared fifty-five years of marriage before his passing in 2001.
On the morning of May 23, 2020, Lenore Lindstadt Waldmeyer, 95, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side. Lenore was born on December 3, 1924, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was the only child of Richard and Clara Teitscheid Lindstadt.

Valjean Marie (Comes) Huntley, age 82, died peacefully at home in Canton, PA, on April 30, 2020.
She loved her home at the Canton Lake where she spent her last days surrounded by her daughters. She was born June 15, 1937 in Smethport, PA. Her parents were John W. Comes and Bessie Alyce Swatsler Comes. She has two brothers, James Comes (Almond, NY) and John D. Comes (Smethport, PA). She has one sister, Mary Kleinhans (Leesburg, FL). She attended Mansfield Teacher’s College where she received a BS in Home Economics Education. It was at college that she met her husband of 37 years, John F. Huntley. Together they had three daughters, Sue (Lyle) Thomas of Canton, PA, Christina (Kevin) Johnson of Divide, CO, and Jayne Rockwell (and Terry Shedden) of Canton, PA. Melvin G. Peifer, was born August 28, 1931 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 16, 2020. He was one of five children to parents, Christian and Fanny Groff Peifer. At the age of 6, Mel lost his father to a rare farming accident that took his life. His siblings included Glenn, Chris, Irene, and Joanne. When his mother was not able to care for all the children, each boy went to live with an uncle and aunt. Beverly Lynn (Bush) Smith lost her battle with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2020 at the Smith Homestead where she had been staying since the “Stay at Home” ruling was made for the Cornia-19 pandemic. Beverly was born on February 16, 1947 at the Colombia Hospital in Wilkensburg, PA. She was one of two children born to the late Arthur R. Bush, Sr. and Mildred I. Bush. After graduating from Turtle Creek High School in 1965, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, she worked as a secretary. Teresa L. (McIlwain) Brackman, 46, of Canton, PA., passed away very unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Sayre’s Robert Packer Hospital.

She was born on April 18, 2000 in Elmira the daughter of Kathleen Cratsley and the late Curtis Jabbar Jones. Lynn A. Williams, 58, beloved wife of Tom Williams, of LeRoy, PA passed away peacefully, Wednesday afternoon May 6, 2020 at the Bradford County Manor following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A celebration to honor Lynn’s life will be held at the family’s convenience.
