Derrike Bellows

   Derrike Bellows, 28 of Williamsport, PA., formerly of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2019.
…..a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one. George R.R. Martin.
Derrike Jordan was born August 26, 1991 in Towanda, PA., to Randy and Amy (Boyd) Bellows. At an early age Derrike made technology a part of his life. He excelled in elementary and high school. He attended Canton High School and was a graduate of the class of 2010 where he was a member of the track team and the National Honor Society. After graduating, he attended Juniata College for Computer Science. He was a five-year employee of Best Buy’s Geek Squad in Muncy, PA. Derrike’s knowledge and skills qualified him to go to the Best Buy Achiever’s Convention in San Antonia, TX in May of 2018, taking his sister Cassidy with him. Derrike most recently accepted an IT position at Vibra Healthcare in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Derrike was an avid recreational reader, movie goer and a huge Beatles fan. Derrike enjoyed the Williamsport Riverwalk and frequented the James V. Brown Library. He will always be remembered as a quiet, kind and giving individual. Derrike had a strong faith in the lord and was a member of the Ward United Methodist Church on Armenia Mountain.

Cindy Evans

   Cindy was born in June of 1950 to her parents Clara (Wood) and Marshall Hoffa. She grew up in a world full of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was especially fond of her grandparents Ruby and Harry Hoffa. Cindy was a spirited classmate of Canton schools, having celebrated their 50dl reunion last year.
   Cindy's two daughters are Jen (Feiock) Syed and Eary (Feiock) Coombs. Along with their daughters Miriam Syed and Grace Coombs, they were the light of her life and always in her heart. Not far behind were the cats she fussed over all through her life, surviving are Clara, Donny, and Betty.
   Cindy was a banker at the First National Bank of Canton for 43 years. People sought her help and advice at the bank as well as at home or on the street. She also cleaned homes and helped the elderly even as a child and throughout her life to the very end.
​   Cindy lived passionately and with much spirit. Her interests were many and varied. She loved the out of doors and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and yard work. Winter cellars were full of her many canned goods. She loved to pick berries of all kinds, a love that began with her grandmother Ruby. Davy R. Stiles

   Davy R. Stiles, 75, of Honesdale, died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at home, after a sudden illness. Born September 10, 1944 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Edgar G. and Louise E. Coons Stiles.
 Davy graduated from Waymart High School. He served in the United States Army. For many years, Davy was a Security Guard at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.
  He is survived by a brother, Gerald Stiles and his wife Diane of Canton, Pennsylvania, two sons:  Richard Stiles & Donald Stiles of Beech Grove; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
  He was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew, in 1993; a sister, Janice Winters, and three brothers, Daniel Stiles, Robert Stiles, and William Stiles.
   Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Aldenville Baptist Church, 971 Creek Drive Prompton, PA (Aldenville) 18456 with Pastor Gary Gilpin officiating.
   Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Davy’s memory to the Aldenville Baptist Church.

Bonnie Crawford

    On the morning of Friday, September 21st, 2019, Bonnie Jean (Robert) Crawford of Canton Township passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years of age. Born September 1st, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia, she was the daughter of Clarence Burton Robert and Geraldine M. (Brown) Robert. When Clarence was discharged from the military the family returned to their original home area, Bradford County, settling in Columbia Cross Roads. Young Bonnie was blessed with a strong work ethic and a desire to help others, so she pursued a career as a registered nurse. Over the years she worked at several elder care facilities in the Northern Tier, the most recent being Dar-Way Elder Care in Sullivan County. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, bowling, camping and traveling.
   She is survived by her husband, Harry Crawford, at home, her mother and step-father Geraldine and Clayton Crout, sons Michael (& Katrina) Crawford of Southport, NC, David (& Kathi) Crawford of Alba, daughter Theresa Crawford of Elkland, Pa., sister Beverly Parker of W. Columbia, SC, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence B. Robert, sister Brenda Overein, brother Burton Robert and sister-in-law Sharon Robert.
   In keeping with Bonnie's wishes there are no public calling hours or services. A private interment will be under the direction of Morse and Kleese Funeral Home. (www.morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)

Margaret "Peg" Dunbar Billingsley

  Margaret "Peg" Dunbar Billingsley passed away July 19, 2019, a resident of the Bradford County Manor.
 Born June 6, 1919 on Armenia Mountain, she was the youngest child of Homer and Elizabeth Hawthorne Dunbar. Peg married Emerson "Bill" Billingsley on November 12, 1942 in Lewiston, Idaho near his WWII Army Air Corps base. Prior to their marriage she worked at Eclipse in Elmira NY doing defense work.
   When Cpt. Billingsley left the Air Corps, they returned to Bradford County. In 1945 they purchased a home and business in East Smithfield PA, living there until becoming permanent residents on Armenia Mountain in 1969. They retired in 1979, spending the following years travelling, alone or with camping groups, until Bill's death in 1987.

Cinda Lou Morrison

  Cinda Lou Morrison, 71, formerly of Shunk, beloved wife of Alan J. Morrison, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 19, 2019 in Celina, Texas.
  Cinda was born in Blossburg, Pa. on Oct 9,1947 a daughter of the late William Reese and Leora (Gee) Lloyd.
In addition to her husband Alan of 42 years, Cinda is survived by four children, Patty Day, Robin (Gary ) Scarboro, Greg (Karen) Williams and Christopher Williams; 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, with another on the way; sisters, JoAnn Kreger, Lauretta (Dean) Carpenter, Ginny (Todd) Paup; brothers, Bill Lloyd, Joe (Maryann) Lloyd and Sam (Sharry) Lloyd; a brother in law, Jerry Dobretzberger; many nieces, nephews, cousins; a step-daughter, Angela (Jim) Redder and two step-children and step-grandchildren.
  She is predeceased by her parents and sisters, Sandra Furst, Marian and Margaret (Peg) Gilbert, father-in- law and mother-in-law, Frank and Dorothea Morrison; close friends, Ruth Smith and Edna Thomlinson; sister-in-law, Bernice Dobretzberger and many dear friends.
  Cinda loved taking care of older people and spent many years working in Adult Care. She was multi-talented and loved doing arts and crafts, she will be dearly missed at the many craft shows she took part in. Cinda was an avid Bingo player and supported all the local bingo games at the Canton and Ralston fire halls, always looking for that chance to yell "BINGO"!!!!!!

Dorothy Norton

   Dorothy “Dotty” Norton, 78, (beloved husband of Malyn Norton) of Shunk, Pa. and life-time resident of Sullivan County, passed away peacefully Friday, September 13, 2019 at her home.
The family invites friends to call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, September 22, at the Endless Winds Fire Hall in Shunk, Pa.  A memorial service in celebration of Dotty’s life will be held at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be private.
   The Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her beloved Endless Winds Fire Co., c/o 9721 Rt. 154, Unit 1, Shunk, Pa. 17768 or to a charity of one’s choice. 

Carol A. Gergel

   Carol A. (Yankus) Gergel, age 77 of Queen Esther Drive, Athens, PA passed away at home on Monday, September 2, 2019. Carol was born November 1, 1941 in Brooklyn the daughter of the late John & Catherine (Krawczuk) Yankus. She received her master’s degree in Chemistry from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. She was married to James R. Gergel on May 27, 1967 and they celebrated 52 years together. Carol worked in the research laboratory setting prior to retiring in 1970 to be at home with her family. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and an avid reader. She and Jim recently moved to this area to be closer to their family.
