Canton Police Warns
Of Phone Scam
Chief Seeley of the Canton Borough Police Department wishes to caution residents on recent scams he has had reported.
If anyone calls stating they are from the IRS and there is a lawsuit being filed against you; that is a scam. The IRS will not contact you via telephone to file a lawsuit.
If anyone calls telling you that you’ve won a prize or award and ask you how much money you have in your possession and in your bank account, it’s a scam. These people then say they will come to your house with your prize or award; be careful. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance and please, be safe!
