Canton Borough Council Asks Residents Not To Mow
Clippings Onto Streets
With the recent torrential downpours, as well as normal rain showers, it is problematic to mow glass clippings onto the streets as the grass clippings end up plugging the storm drains and catch basins which then allows for flash flooding on Borough streets. While it is not illegal to do so on Borough streets, it is on streets owned by PennDOT which would include East Main Street, West Main Street, Sullivan Street, Springbrook Drive, Troy Street, South Minnequa Avenue, East South Avenue, Lower Mountain Avenue and North Center Street. The Borough would ask that residents be courteous and not continue to mow/blow grass onto Borough streets.
