Robert (Muskrat) Borden

    Robert (Muskrat) Borden Sr., 80, joined our Lord in heaven surrounded by his family on November, 30, 2016.
    Robert was born July 7, 1936, in Yardley, PA. Bob was the son of Anna Burns Borden of Afton, NY, and Frank Borden of Yardley, PA.
     Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandy (Settelen) Borden; sons, Robert Jr., New York, NY, Joseph Borden, Granville Summit; daughter, Barbara Deitrick, Osage Beach, MO, daughter, Ann Borden, Granville Summit; grandchildren, Sean Deitrick, Jaymie Marth, Kelly Deitrick, Daniel Deitrick, Derrick Deitrick, Brendon Moore, Holly Moore, Amber Moore; great grandchildren.

Vera B. Mahar

Vera B. Mahar, Millerton, PA passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the age of 90.         She was born on July 29, 1926 in Laquin, PA, a daughter of the late Clyde Rutty and Mae Case.         Vera is predeceased by her husbands, David R. Austin and Ralph C. Mahar; sons, Dennis H. Austin, and William ‘Bill” R. Austin; brothers, Rocky, Danny, Emmy and sister, Marcella.
    She is survived by children, Gerald L. Austin, Sharon A. Smith, Vernon “Butch” (Shirley) Austin, Charlene M. (John) Ketter; grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Packard, Beverly Allen, Lucy Sullivan and Jane (Ed) Moore; and many extended family members.

Scott L. Jennings

    Scott L. Jennings, 46, Canton,  (Leroy Twp.) was called home to Heaven on Saturday evening, November 26, 2016 at his home while surrounded by loved ones.
    Born August 7, 1970 in Troy, Scott was one of four sons of Larry D. and Sherry S. (Shoemaker) Jennings, Granville Summit.  
    He was a 1988 graduate of Canton High School.  
    On September 2, 1995, he married the former Nicole L. Hartford in the Canton Ecumenical Church.
    While Scott was employed by Canton Manufacturing in early years, he found his calling by pursuing an interest in helping others.  He began a more than 20-year career as a Paramedic through the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center’s Paramedic Training Institute.  Scott was employed with Susquehanna County’s Barnes Kasson Hospital, Greater Valley EMS, Montrose Minutemen EMS and Western Alliance EMS.  Most recently Scott worked at Guthrie’s Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
    He was an active member of the Independent Baptist Church in Leroy.  Also, a supporter of his community, Scott was a life-member of the Canton Volunteer Fire Company, an EMT volunteer with Western Alliance for over 15 years; his service was recently honored by retirement of his Medic Number 13.  Scott coached for Troy Area Youth Soccer, Leroy’s Little League Softball and for Northern Tier United's Travel Soccer.

    Barbara Jean Feigles, 76, of Ralston, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center's Gatehouse.
    Born in Philadelphia, Jan. 21, 1940, she was the daughter of Jack R. Feigles and Elsie Laura Feigles.
    Barbara was a graduate of Williamsport High School.

Francis L. Beeman

  Francis L. Beeman, 77, of Binghamton, NY, formerly of Wysox,  passed away Tuesday evening, November 22, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.  
    Francis was born in Towanda, on April 2, 1939 the son of Forrest and Louise Hoag Beeman.  He was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1957 and Penn State University in 1961.  Francis completed graduate work at Mansfield University.  He began his career in teaching at Sayre High School where he remained for six years and subsequently transferred to SRU High School for two years and Troy High School as the Industrial Arts instructor there for 23 years until his retirement.  Francis was a member of the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Association.  Francis enjoyed traveling and working on antique cars.

    Darwin A. Mickley, age 39, of Elmira, passed very unexpectedly due to a heart attack on Sun. Nov. 20, 2016.
    He was born on April 28, 1977 in Troy, the son of Glenn and Michelle Salle Mickley, Gillett.
    In addition to his parents, "Mick" is survived by his loving wife and companion of the last seven years, Rebecca Reichard Mickley;  two sons, Maxwell and Fallon; Darwin's siblings, Renae (Tom) Arnold, Pink Hill, Mis., and Darryn (Melissa) Mickley, Elmira; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David (Susan) Reichard, Columbia Cross Roads; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Brian) Starks, Bethlehem, PA, and Sarah (Mitchell) MacDougall, St. Michaels, MD; brother-in-law, David (Andrea) Reichard, Wilkes-Barre; along with nieces, nephews, many friends and colleagues.

   LaRene (Krise) Putnam, 82, of Troy, PA passed away at Troy Community Hospital on Monday, November 14, 2016 surrounded by her family.  She was the loving wife of Robert D. Putnam, Sr. The couple married June 26, 1954 and had 62 happy years together.
     LaRene was born on November 4, 1934 in Canton, daughter of the late Francis and Arlene (Schanbacher) Krise.  She was a Canton High School graduate and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 
​     LaRene is survived by her husband Bob, her son Robert D. (Barbara J.) Putnam, Jr. and their family of Eric Robert Putnam, Nikki Morrison, Michael William Putnam, and Morreen House, son Terry L. (Melea L.) Putnam and their family of Terry L. Putnam, II,  Arrell F. Putnam and four children along with Adam L. Putnam Sarah L. Fowler , son Roger L. Isabell (Bell) Marie Johnson

     Isabell (Bell) Marie Johnson, 85, of Granville Summit, passed away Nov. 16, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital.  Born February 23 1931, in Ulster, she was the daughter of Claude and Iva (Eddy) Covey.  She was a graduate of Ulster High School and was a homemaker for all of her life.  
      She married Richard Manley Johnson on April 28, 1951.  Together they have two surviving children, Betty Ann and Richard.
     Isabell found great joy in her family, and especially enjoyed the gathering of family for Sunday dinner at her house.
     Isabell is survived by children, Betty Ann McNeal of Granville Summit, Richard (Lisa) Johnson of Milford Ohio; daughter-in law, Denise Johnson of Chula Vista, California; Grandchildren, Marie and Michelle McNeal, Richelle Spiak, Rachel Seeberger, Rebecca Monoskie, Robin Aoki, Robert, Tina, Linda Ann, and Joey Johnson; great-grandchildren, Madison McNeal-Buchanan, Felicia and Kevin Young, Jacob, Matthew, and Austin Seeberger, Justin, Rachel, and Gaven Frey, Derek and Elizabeth Johnson, Thomas Burdick, and Finn Aoki.

Vonda Wilcox

 Vonda Wilcox, 51, of Canton, PA was called to Heaven on Tuesday evening, November 15, 2016 from Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. 
   Born May 2, 1965 in Elmira, NY, Vonda Kay was a daughter of Ron and Marcia (Hurlburt) Roblyer of Troy.  She was a member of Troy High School’s 1983 graduating class.  Vonda married Brad S. Wilcox on February 16, 1985 in Canton and they raised two sons.  She enjoyed her work as a graphic artist and for Sprint Communications.  She was a member of Canton’s Women of the Moose Lodge.  
      Love and support for family, home and friends always came first in Vonda’s life.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Vonda enjoyed doing many things, but special interests included her love for all animals, riding horses, cooking and crocheting.
​       In addition to her parents, surviving is Brad, her beloved husband of 31 years; children, Justin Wilcox (fiancé, Billie Marie Dorsey) and Nicholas (Tabatha) Wilcox all of Canton;  granddaughters, Amaya and Emma both of North Carolina;  sister and brother, Kim (Walter) Smith, Nazareth and Shawn (Judy) Roblyer, Allentown; father-in-law, Ralph (Leora) Wilcox, Canton; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark (Luann) Wilcox, Wheelerville, Nancy (Barry) Groves, Montoursville and Brenda (Allen) Hartford of Alba,  several uncles aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
