
Born August 7, 1970 in Troy, Scott was one of four sons of Larry D. and Sherry S. (Shoemaker) Jennings, Granville Summit.
He was a 1988 graduate of Canton High School.
On September 2, 1995, he married the former Nicole L. Hartford in the Canton Ecumenical Church.
While Scott was employed by Canton Manufacturing in early years, he found his calling by pursuing an interest in helping others. He began a more than 20-year career as a Paramedic through the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center’s Paramedic Training Institute. Scott was employed with Susquehanna County’s Barnes Kasson Hospital, Greater Valley EMS, Montrose Minutemen EMS and Western Alliance EMS. Most recently Scott worked at Guthrie’s Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
He was an active member of the Independent Baptist Church in Leroy. Also, a supporter of his community, Scott was a life-member of the Canton Volunteer Fire Company, an EMT volunteer with Western Alliance for over 15 years; his service was recently honored by retirement of his Medic Number 13. Scott coached for Troy Area Youth Soccer, Leroy’s Little League Softball and for Northern Tier United's Travel Soccer.
In addition to his parents, Larry Sr. and Sherry Jennings; surviving is his wife of 21 years, Nicole; daughter, Emily; brothers, Larry Jr. (Annette) Jennings, Warren Center, Randy L. Jennings, Canton and James L. (Michelle) Jennings, Leroy; mothers-in-law, Cheyenne McCarty, Cogan Station and Peg Hartford, Shunk; brothers-in-law, Stacy Hartford, Shunk and Rod (Amanda) Hartford, Canton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins several very dear and special friends. He also leaves his dogs and faithful companions, Ben and Gabby.
Scott was predeceased by grandparents; Vaughn and Zelma Jennings, Duane Shoemaker and Ruth Foust; fathers-in-law, Rocky Hartford and Barry McCarty.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1 to 3 pm at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton. Pastor Ron Bly and Pastor Larry Jennings Jr. will officiate the memorial service following at 3 pm.
Burial will be private.
