Bradley L. Allen

    Bradley L. Allen, 85, Lebanon passed away on August 31, 2016 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
    He was the husband of Phyllis J. (Porter) Allen, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage.
    Born on February 20, 1931 in Canton, he was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy Lawrence Allen.
    Mr. Allen graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor of science. He was a United State Air Force Veteran having served in the Philippines for four years.
    He was employed with Abbott Laboratories in pharmaceutical sales and the Lebanon VNA as a licensed physical therapist.
    Mr. Allen was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for over 50 years; a member of the Jaycees and Annville American Legion.

Concetta I. "Connie" (Maione) Heib

    Concetta I. “Connie” (Maione) Heib, 83,  Gillett,  passed away on  August 30, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, NY.  She was the loving wife of the late LeRoy D. Heib who passed away on May 23, 2010.  The couple married September 15, 1982 and had 27 happy years together.
    Connie was born on January 20, 1933 in Cliffside Park, NJ, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Filomena (Chiasa) Maione.  She was Roman Catholic by faith and was a waitress at Mark’s Brothers Restaurant in Mansfield until her retirement in 1995.  Connie enjoyed gardening, spending time at the ocean, dancing, and cooking.  She had a sharp wit and enjoyed watching wildlife from her mountain top home.

Harland A. Harris

    Harland A. Harris passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Bradford County Manor.
    He was a life-long resident of Smithfield Township where he was born on July 17, 1923 to the late Guy and Ethel (Kingsley) Harris.  He was a 1941 graduate of the Smithfield Township High School.  He married the former Angeline Scouten in East Smithfield on August 27, 1950.  They had 66 wonderful years together.
    In 1951 they purchased the family dairy farm working side by side.  They built their retirement home together where they lived until he moved to the manor three months ago.  After retiring from a successful career of farming, he worked for the Masonite Corporation and retired from International Paper in 1988.  They spent several years in Florida during the winter.  He was a member of the Jersey Cattle Club, Northeast Dairy Co-op, Smithfield Grange and the East Smithfield Federated Church.  He enjoyed reading, traveling, snowmobiling, motorcycling, golf, working in the woods and family gatherings at the pond.

Clara L. Forbes

     Clara L. Forbes, 92 years old, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Guthrie - Memorial Skilled Nursing Home. She was born June 29, 1924 to Smith A. and Laura N. (Gillette) Forbes of Myersburg, PA. At a very young age she was stricken with Polio and other medical problems. She was a very talented musician, playing several instruments and piano and gave piano lessons. Clara was a graduate of Towanda High School and attended Mansfield College. She worked and retired from Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory. Following retirement she delivered the Towanda Daily Review for many years. Clara was always active giving tirelessly of herself and expected nothing in return. She enjoyed traveling with her niece Nancy and her husband Ken in their motor home.

Robert "Bob" Greenough

     Robert “Bob” Greenough, Sr., 91, Columbia Cross Roads, PA (Springfield Township) passed away early Thursday morning, August 25, 2016 at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center.
    Robert Henry Greenough was born on February 18, 1925 in Troy, PA.  He was one of three children of the late Caleb and Gladys (Allyn) Greeno.  Bob was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1942.  Shortly following graduation in November of 1942 he married the love of his life, the former Shirley Dunbar at her parent’s home in Big Pond, PA.  His beloved Shirley preceded him in death on February 27, 2009 following 66 years of marriage and raising four children.
     In 1943 Robert entered the U.S. Army Air Force proudly serving as a Sergeant during WWII.  Bob later began a long career working for the U.S. Postal Service and for over 30 years served as Rural Mail Carrier for the Columbia Cross Roads Post Office.  He was an active member of the Big Pond United Methodist Church.  Bob was also a member of the Towanda Elks Lodge, the NRA, Rural Letter Carriers Assoc., Bradford County’s Alzheimer’s Assoc. and was a long time member and past president of the Old Timer’s Assoc.   Robert’s main interest in life encompassed his love for church, family and home.

     George W. "Bill" Johnson Sr., 69, of 23 Watkins Road, Monroeton, passed away at Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family early Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, 2016. He was taken far too soon; gone from our lives, but forever in our hearts.
    Born in Sayre, on April 27, 1947, he was the son of George and LaDora Ennis Johnson. George was a graduate of Towanda High School class of 1965. He was employed by Masonite Corporation in Wysox for 24 years and by the Towanda School District for 10 years as head custodian at the high school. Bill was always ready to help other people. He will be remembered for his whistling, happily everywhere he went.

Ernest Waldron “Punter” Schill, Jr. 52, of Burlington, PA passed away suddenly at home on August 21, 2016.  Born on January 22, 1964, he is the son of Karen (Dodge) Schill of Burlington and the late Ernest W. Schill, Sr. who passed away April 23, 2011.  “Punter” as he was affectionately known, was a 1983 graduate of Troy High School, then went on to drive school bus before he became Road Master for Burlington Township for 34 years.  He loved tractor pulling, bowling, hunting, and spending time with his family.  He was a hard-working, devoted husband, son, step-father, and uncle.  Now he can rest in the best hands of our Heavenly Father.  He took pride in his work and was always improving his home.  He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
    Punter is survived by his wife Anna, his step children Christian and Emma Morgan, whom he loved like his own.  He is also survived by his mother Karen, his sisters JaNell (Doug) Young of Burlington, Joetta Aten of Meshoppen, and Stephanie Schill of Burlington, his sisters-in-law April Pezina and Sandra Villarreal of San Antonio, TX, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends and neighbors.  Punter was preceded in death by his father Ernest Sr., his mother-in-law Mary Pezina, his brother-in-law Richard Pezina, his maternal grandparents Raymond and Bernice Dodge, and his paternal grandparents Laverne and Gladys Schill.

Jane A.(Rushin) Lucke, 86,  of Anderson Township, Ohio, passed away August 20, 2016.
 She was born February 7, 1930 and was a Penn State University graduate, class of 1951.
She was the loving wife  of Robert Lucke, devoted mother to Mark (Sue) Carl, Tom (Lori) Lucke, beloved grandmother to Kyle, Michael (Marissa), Sabina, Verena, and great-grandmother of two.
    She was the loving sister of Jack, Jerry, the late Paul and the late Andrew Rushin
 A Mass of Christian burial was held August 23 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 6539 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Morris Eugene "Gene" Brown

    Morris Eugene "Gene" Brown, 87, Liberty Corners, PA, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday morning, Aug. 20, 2016 from the Skilled Nursing Unit of Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA
    Morris was born on the family farm in Monroe Township, PA, on July 29, 1929 to Earl Bruddy Brown and Ruth E. Beers Brown. Gene attended the Powell school and worked on the family farm and on the Marcy Hill Farms. He purchased the Marcy Hill Farms in 1951 from the Marcys.
    On April 14, 1956, Morris married his sweetheart, Erdean Mae Bedford of Canton.  They had 49 years together. Gene's two greatest passions in life were his family and farming.
    Surviving are his children, Harold D. "Harry" (Cathy) Brown of New Port Richey, FL, Linda Jane (Thomas) Brown McPherson of Fairview, NC, James R. (AmyJo) Brown of Frederick, Md., and Jake E. Brown of Wyalusing.; grandchildren, Christopher Brown of Florida, Eli Brown of Coatesville, PA, Nathan Brown of Frederick, MD, and Mary Mae McPherson of North Carolina; brothers, Kenneth S. Brown of Liberty Corners, Charles W. Brown of South Branch.; sisters, Joyce Richlin of Towanda, Irene (Donald) Murray of Columbia Cross Roads; sister-in-law, M. Suzanne Brown of Towanda, Joy (Joey) Herman of Canton; brother-in-law, Jack Bedford of East Canton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marcia Blondell Bridgham

     Marcia Blondell Bridgham passed away on Thursday August 18, 2016 in West Burlington Township, PA with her sons by her side following an extended period of illness. She was born to the late Martin E. and Marjorie (Swift) Blondell on May 4, 1942 in Milton, MA.
    She grew up in Canton, MA and graduated with the Canton High School class of 1960. She then went on to Keene (NH) State College where she met a young Marine Corps officer and they were married. The couple raised 2 boys and traveled extensively throughout the US as a military family. Marcia later went on to a long career in the insurance field and retired from the Corrigan Agency - Nationwide Ins. in 2011.   Marcia always enjoyed the oceans and waterfronts and spent time on the Pacific coast, Cape Cod, Annapolis, MD and the South shore of Boston, notably in Scituate.
