A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert W. Grantier of Troy, PA, is planned for Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 1:00 PM at the Troy High School Memorial Auditorium. The community is welcome to join family and friends to pay tribute to Bob and to recognize his many accomplishments and contributions.
On May 30, 2015, Michael A. Horner left this earth to join his parents, Alberta and John (Brad) Bradley. He leaves behind his wife of 27 years Debbie (Deborah) Horner, and a daughter Alisha and a son Aaron Horner. He also has three step children. Shawn (Florida), Shane (Athens) and Shannon Northrup (Sayre).
Michael adored his grandchildren, Alexis, Adien and Devin, two great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Cathy Horner Keeney and Patricia Horner Smith, both of Walkersville, Md., Barbara Horner Montgomery, Canton; Elizabeth Bradley, White Cloud, MI; and brothers Daniel Horner, Canton and Alan Bradley, Athens. Helen Ruth Strope Johnson, 70, of 144 53 Chevy Lane, Towanda, Pa., Burlington Township, passed away Friday morning, May 29, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Helen was born at home in Burlington Township on April 17, 1945, the daughter of Isaac and Anna Brown Strope. She attended Troy High School and later on Sept. 26, 1970 married Charles E. Johnson. Helen served as a house mother at the Martha Lloyd School in Troy, Pa. for a number of years. Judith E. DiCenso, 89, of Loyalsock Twp., died on May 28, 2015 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 8, 1925 in Canton, PA, the daughter of Dr. Ernest and Mabel Dryer Strauss. Upon her father’s death she was then raised by her mother and step-father, Lawrence Zimmerman (“Zimmy”). She graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1943. Judy was a very active and unselfish lady. She was the type of person that if you only met her once, you could never forget you met her. She left a very positive impression upon everyone she touched. On the morning of Wednesday, May 28th, 2015, Archie W. Vroman of Ralston passed away quietly at The Gatehouse in Williamsport. He was 85 years of age.
Born in McIntyre Twp., Lycoming Co. on October 26th, 1929, he was the son of John W. and Ida B. (Woodward) Vroman. Archie was a member of the last graduating class of the former Ralston High School, where he was honored as valedictorian. On the morning of Monday, May 25th, 2015, Canton resident Bessie Irene (Arbogast) Hoffa passed away quietly at Bradford County Manor. She was 96 years of age. Born March 2nd, 1919 in Spencertown (Union Township) Tioga County, she was the daughter of Jacob and Edna (Allen) Arbogast.
A Graveside service for the late Glenn Pratt of Trout Run will be held at Pennsdale Cemetery 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Lay speaker, Jeanie Hayes will be officiating and military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial to Ralston’s United Methodist Church or Ralston Fire Company.

Born October 21st, 1928 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of John and Florence (Menzel) Dull. As a youngster she assisted in her family’s produce store in Ambler, as well as on her father’s huckster truck. Ruth graduated from Ambler High School with the class of 1948. Bryan Keith Wilcox, 54, passed away, September 24, 2014, beloved son, brother and father to James Wilcox, Kirk Wilcox, Lisa Seeley and Shawn Wilcox.
The family will be holding a memorial service May 22, 2015 at the St. John's United Methodist Church in Grover, PA at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Bryan was a kind and giving person who will be missed by many. A private graveside service will be held immediately following the memorial service. Age 83 of Elmira, NY, passed away May 20th, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
She was born in Elmira, August 20, 1931 the daughter of the late William and Mary (Adams) Lowery. Doris’ life-long passion for culinary services led her to own and operate Lowery’s Restaurant in Big Flats and manage Pippins Restaurant in Elmira Heights. Later, she ran the kitchen for the local Meals on Wheels. Her family took the top priority in her life, always putting their needs before her own. In her later years, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
