Born February 8th, 1943 in Troy Township he was the son of Lyle D. and Elsie (Jackson) Crawford. Harry was raised in the Troy-Alba school district and served our country with the U. S. Army in Munich, West Germany, between 1960 and 1962. In later years he would often recall the tensions that arose between the U. S. and the U. S. S.R., and how his unit was on high alert as the infamous Berlin Wall was erected.
