Following his return to civilian life Harry was employed by Canton Manufacturing, where he rose to the position of supervisor. He met and married the former Bonnie Robert, and together they raised two sons and a daughter and shared 53 years until Bonnie's passing just five weeks ago. Harry was well known for his quick, and often sarcastic wit. Affectionately known to his friends as “Nasty,” he was a master at good-natured “ribbing.” What's more, he was straight forward and to the point, and you always knew where you stood with him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and travel. He was active among Canton's military veteran community, having served as Commander of Canton VFW Post #714, as well as being active with the Canton American Legion Post #303 and the Deer Crossing Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Red Run Rod & Gun Club and a life member of Canton Chapter #429 Loyal Order of Moose.. Most importantly he was close to his family and friends.
A graveside service will take place at Grover Cemetery 2 P.M. Saturday, November 16th where military honors will be accorded by VFW Post #714. www.morseandkleesefuneralhome.com
