Born October 13th, 1942 in Canton, he was the son of Robert and Mary Josephine (Hawthorne) Bailey.
As a child he bravely fought the ravages of polio. Bob was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1960, and was employed for many years at Paper Magic as a product planner.
Bob always found the time to engage in volunteer work in his community. He ran the Troy Food Pantry for many years, assisting local residents who were in need.
He was also active with New Beginnings, helping with the fight against substance abuse. Bob was not only concerned with helping the physical nature, but the spiritual nature as well. He was a man of great faith and was an active member of Victory Church in Troy.
Bob was also active with the Gideons International, helping to spread the Good News of Jesus to young and old alike. As he bravely fought his illness in his latter days Bob found strength and consolation through his relationship with the Lord.
