Rexford is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Oldroyd of Horseheads, N.Y. and Pamela (Les) Achey of Roseville, Pa., two grandchildren, Erika (Horacio) Moises and Brent (Suzy) Achey, along with five great grandchildren, Trent Achey, Kendra Moises, Kadin Moises, Devon Moises and Ashlyn Achey.
Rexford H. Oldroyd, age 92, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at the Bradford County Manor in Troy, Pa. Rexford was born Oct. 11, 1926 in Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., a son of the late Henry and Anita (Baker) Oldroyd. Rexford worked for the Westinghouse Company as an electronics technician, and also enjoyed working as a ham radio operator with the call sign “K3KCN."

Marion E. (Mingos) Luckey, 93 of Troy, Pa., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 from the Bradford County Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Charles W. Luckey, Sr., who passed away Jan. 8, 2009. The couple married Jan. 12, 1946 and had 61 happy years together. Marion was born on Oct. 24, 1925 in Athens, Pa., daughter of the late James and May (Wandell) Mingos and grew up in Luther’s Mills, Pa. She was a long time member of the East Troy Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. Marion also belonged to the American Baptist Women of East Troy Baptist and held several positions including treasurer in that group. She was also a member of the East Troy Baptist Ladies Aid. One of Marion’s passions was genealogy. She was a member of the Troy Genealogical Society and Elder Guild of Bradford County. Marion was a member and volunteer of the Bradford County Heritage Association. She enjoyed writing poems, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Kenneth J. Utter, 89, of Granville Summit, Pa. (LeRoy Township) passed away on Friday evening Nov. 23, 2018 at the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital.
Born in Hainesville, NJ on Mar. 19, 1929, Kenneth James was a son of the late James Utter and Frances Drake. In younger years, Ken worked in New Jersey for many years as a heavy equipment operator. On June 12, 1970 he married the former Priscilla Blakeslee in Elkton, MD. Following retirement in 1992, the Utter’s made their home in LeRoy Township where Ken continued to work part-time at his excavation business. Kenneth possessed a strong work ethic all his life. He enjoyed the outdoors especially his occupation, hunting and just keeping busy. Tinkering was a talent that came naturally. Phillip F. Eiffert, 86 of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018 at Elmcroft of Mid-Valley in Peckville, Pa. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Smiley) Eiffert, who passed away Apr. 17, 2015. The couple married Oct. 23, 1960 and had 54 happy years together. Phil was born on Aug. 19, 1932 in Troy, Pa., son of the late Lynn and Mary (Williams) Eiffert. He was a 1950 graduate of Troy High School. After graduation, he worked as an inspector for American LaFrance for 20 years, and after became a local real estate agent and school bus driver. Phil was a member of the Big Pond United Methodist Church, a charter and over 50 year member of the Big Pond Lion’s Club, where he held several leadership rolls, was a member of the Ondawa Grange, and the Monday Night Bowling League at Terrace Lanes. John W. Snyder, Jr., 79, of Cogan Station, Pa. passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 22, 2018 at his home while surrounded by family. Born Sept. 20, 1939 in Estella, Pa., John Wesley Snyder Jr., “Buzz” to family and friends, was a son of the late John W. Snyder and Marjorie (Boyles) Martin. He was a graduate of Montoursville High School, class of 1956. On June 16, 1976, John married the former Bonnie Jean Graybill in Williamsport, Pa. Together they shared 42 loving years. “Big John” enjoyed his career as a machinist and was employed at Textron Lycoming for many years until retiring in 2001. Following employment, he worked at Sam's Club as a door greeter. He appreciated woodworking, bowling, playing darts watching westerns and sports on TV; especially his favorite, the “New York Yankees." He was a member of Friends Church of Hughesville. Priscilla L. Jackson-Six, age 75, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Elderwood at Wavery, Waverly, N.Y. Priscilla was born July 8, 1943 in Canton, Pa., a daughter of the late Clayton and Eleanor (Balmer) Oldroyd and granddaughter of the late Frank and Ella (Holton) Oldroyd, who raised her.
Beginning in April 1959, and for a few years thereafter, Priscilla was the Austinville news correspondent for the Troy Gazette-Register. After graduating in 1960 from Troy High School, Troy, Pa., she was employed at the Eureka Specialty Printing Company in Troy. She later worked at and retired from Mansfield State College, Mansfield, Pa. In with a leg brace, crutches and medical issues that plagued her for the remainder of her life; she, however, was not deterred. Getting behind the wheel and driving the familiar and unfamiliar highways was one of her passions. Wherever she went, she was always ready for a good cup of coffee, conversation and good food (not necessarily in that order). Priscilla had a keen memory and was very strong-willed. Her hobbies included embroidery, plants and fairs. She also enjoyed attending classic car shows throughout the years. Ann Marie Wilcox Griswold, age 80 of Roaring Branch, Pa., was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 while surrounded by loved ones. She was a member of the Grover Church of Christ and a graduate of Canton High School class of 1956. Ann Marie was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Sept. 14,1938. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Loretta Toth of Ellenton Mountain.
She is survived by her daughters Shari Matthews of Horseheads, N.Y., Cheryl (& Thomas) Newton of Canton, Robin (& Dennis) Wilson of Roaring Branch, sons John L. (& Marcella) Wilcox Jr. of Franklindale and Ron Wilcox (& Lou Peccerillo) of Port Charlotte, Fla., as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John L. Wilcox, Sr., and grandson, Dennis Wilson, Jr. Theodore (Ted) Angradi passed away on Nov. 18, 2018 in Greenville, S.C. at the age of 86. Ted grew up in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania in Glen Lyon. He attended Wilkes College on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from Mansfield State College in 1956 and from Glassboro State College in 1967. Ted taught English for many years at Southern Regional High School in New Jersey.
Andrew Guy Osgood, 45 of Troy, Pa., passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at his home. Andrew was born on June 19, 1973 in Baltimore, Md., son of Carl Osgood of Troy, Pa. and the late Sue Ann (Holcombe) Osgood who passed away on Aug. 8, 1998. He was a graduate of Glen Bernie High School in Maryland and was a chef for many years after. Andrew was an animal lover and had several pets, enjoyed skate boarding and working on cars, and was United Methodist by faith.
Andrew is survived by his father and step-mother Carl and Cleo Osgood of Troy, his sister Lucinda Osgood of Hyattsville, Md., his step sister Jan (Bruce) Roy and children, step brother Neal (Candy) Saunders and children, his uncle Donald (Carol) Osgood, great aunt Audrey Porter, along with numerous cousins. Andrew was preceded in death by his mother Sue Ann (Holcombe) Osgood, his grandparents Ivan and Mildred Osgood and Guy and Bessie Holcombe, and his long-time companion Anna Jaeckel. William H. “Bill” Myers formally of Granville Summit Pa. passed away Nov. 14, 2018 peacefully in Oviedo, Florida where he had been living for the last two years.
Bill was born Feb. 16, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and relocated to Granville Summit for the natural beauty of the countryside, which he enjoyed for 43 years. Bill is survived by his four sons, eight grandchildren, seven great children and was pre-deceased by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Myers in 2005, and, son, Edward Myers in 2003. He will be remembered as a loving man who dedicated his life to family and country. He was never afraid to voice his opinion on anything. Preferring plain and direct speech, he was a simple man of strong values and convictions, and when he believed in something, it was with his whole heart that he would defend his belief. |
