Reed H. Zimmer, 80, Covington, passed away Aug. 1, 2018 at the Green Home, Wellsboro.   Born Aug. 31, 1937 at Blossburg State Hospital, the son of Ben and Sarah Morgan Zimmer.  On July 7, 1962 Reed married Janet Higgins; she survives and resides in Covington.
    Reed was a1955 graduate of Covington High School and a 1959 graduate of Penn State University with a Dairy Science degree.
   He was employed as a plumber and a Christmas tree farmer at Zimmer Century Tree Farm.
  He was a representative of tree growers at Penn State Ag Council, a member of PA Christmas Tree Growers Association, and Child Evangelism Fellowship of Tioga County.
​   Mr. Zimmer was a member of The First Baptist Church of Blossburg where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and chairman of the board.

     On the morning of  Thursday, March 17th, 2016, Donna Marie (Simpson) Zimmer of Canton passed away quietly at Troy Community Hospital following a brief illness.  She was 78 years of age.  
    Born September 16th, 1937 in Canton, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Edna (Palmer) Simpson.  Following her graduation from Canton High School Donna pursued a career as a teacher, earning her master’s degree at Mansfield University.          During her three decade career she taught first in the Canton Area School District where she also tended to the school library.  Later she taught in the South Williamsport School district, retiring in 1997.  She was married to David Zimmer, with whom she raised two sons and would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in June of this year.
 Donna worked actively with the Canton High School Alumni Association.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden and doing jigsaw puzzles.  She was a great lover of cats and was devoted to her family and friends.  Today she rests from her labors in the arms of her Lord.
