Born April 10, 1922 in Jersey Shore, PA, she was a daughter of the late Adam C. and Ida Yaggie.
Kay graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1939.
On Dec. 16, 1944, she married the late Edwin S. “Ebby” Harer. They shared 61 years until his passing on Feb. 28, 2006.
Kay was a member of the East Point United Methodist Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be remembered for always putting others first, especially her family. Kay had many jobs through the years; she and Ebby owned and operated Edmont Farms, she worked at Carey McFalls, Wundies and was a waitress. Most importantly, Kay loved being a dairy farmer’s wife and raising her children and grandchildren. Some of Kay’s passions included gardening, canning, baking and bowling. She also enjoyed family gatherings; always making sure you didn’t go away hungry.
Surviving are her children: Ronald Harer, East Point and Jeannie (Bill) Banks, Montoursville; grandchildren: Eddie, Angela, Tracey and Tim; five great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Lil Yaggie, Canton, several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at East Point Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Kay’s name to East Point Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4 Liberty, PA 16930. Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
