Edith C. Watkins

    Edith C. Watkins Berry, 89,  Troy, PA went home to be with her Lord Friday, November 20, 2015 from the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. 
    Edith was born in Elkland, PA on October 16, 1926 the only child of Joseph and Ruth Stevens Case.     
    Edith attended Troy High School.
     She assisted her first husband Howard E. Watkins in the operation of their farm in Springfield Township, PA for many years until his passing on May 9, 1988.
  In May of 1993, Edith married Marvin Berry and the couple made their home in Springfield Township.
     Edith was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and always had great compassion for others.  Edith was an avid reader and was passionate in reading her Bible daily.  She enjoyed bird-watching and in her younger years she enjoyed hiking and traveling.  Edith will be deeply missed by her family and friends.


    Surviving are her husband, Marvin Berry; children, Ruth Garrison and husband Bob, Troy, PA, Judy Tarbox, Parrish, FL, Virginia Martin and husband Marvin, Concord, NC, Howard M. Watkins and wife Linda, Troy, PA; grandchildren, Linda Garrison, Molly Garrison Best (Dennis), Jill Garrison (Art Kocan), Jennifer Malehorn (James), Kerri Garrison, Marcy Murphy (Randall), Lisa Weaver, Joe Ayers, Holly Watkins and Derek Watkins, step children, Marilyn McClelland (Carl), Kathleen Leonard (Duane), David L. Berry (Dianne) and Dawn Hollenback; several great grandchildren;  great great grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; step great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends, Marian Riley and Mary Ellen Terpstra.     
    In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, step son-in-law, Russell Hollenback and special friend, Alma Stroud.
    The funeral service was held  November 24, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 2Towanda, PA with Pastor Audrey Fuller and Pastor Marie Flemming officiating.
    Interment followed in the Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA.
    The family suggests  contributions may be directed to Happy Tails No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc., P.O. Box 68, Towanda, PA 18848, the Animal Care Sanctuary, P.O. Box A, East Smithfield, PA, 18817 or to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O.
