Buckheit Funeral Chapel And Crematory, Inc., is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com Richard N. “Dick” Rockwell, 84 of Bailey’s Corners Road in Troy, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home. He was the loving husband of Carol V. (Congdon) Rockwell. The couple married October 21, 1954 and had 62 happy years together. Dick was born on July 30, 1932 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Carl and Doris (Learson) Rockwell. He was a 1950 Troy High School graduate and was the catcher on the varsity baseball team. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran and retiree, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He served his country in Korea and Viet Nam, and also held posts all over the U.S. He retired from the Army in 1982 and came back to Bradford County where he clerked for John Imp and Wayne Wrisley at their businesses, and was an Auto Body Instructor at the Northern Tier Career Center. Dick was a 50 year member of the West Burlington United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the NRA, American Legion, and was a Gold Circle member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed Fishing and hunting, was an avid baseball and football fan, and enjoyed traveling. Robert Burleigh Roof, 84, Wysox, Standing Stone Township, passed away November 10, 2016 at his home following declining health.
Robert was born in Towanda, on November 8, 1932 the son of Burleigh Lee Roof and Effie Whipple Roof. He was a graduate of Towanda High School Class of 1953 and in early years was employed by several area farms. Robert was a well-known general contractor operating his building and remodeling business for 40 years until retirement. Robert was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Towanda, Wysox-Sheshequin Grange No. 58, the Relax Square Dancing Club of Elmira, NY, the PEN-NY Promenaders Square Dance Club of Sayre, and in prior years served as a 4-H Leader. Robert and his wife Mary Jane proudly served as foster grandparents for many years. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and caring for his animals on the family farm. Ann Louise (Bowers) Roupp, age 87, went to be home with the Lord on Nov. 3, 2016. She was born Sept. 2, 1929 to James and Fanny (Culver) Bowers in Wellsboro. She was the wife of the late Ernest C. Roupp for 34 years and the late John F. Roupp for 19 years.
In earlier years Ann enjoyed crocheting, camping, traveling, ceramics and family time. Her recent years were spent at Broad Acres where she enjoyed bingo. Jane A.(Rushin) Lucke, 86, of Anderson Township, Ohio, passed away August 20, 2016. She was born February 7, 1930 and was a Penn State University graduate, class of 1951. She was the loving wife of Robert Lucke, devoted mother to Mark (Sue) Carl, Tom (Lori) Lucke, beloved grandmother to Kyle, Michael (Marissa), Sabina, Verena, and great-grandmother of two. She was the loving sister of Jack, Jerry, the late Paul and the late Andrew Rushin A Mass of Christian burial was held August 23 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 6539 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio. Born November 4, 1940 in Williamsport, Gerald Mark Rightmire was a son of Dorothy (Foulkrod) Rightmire and the late Dormar Rightmire. Jerry was a sheet metal union worker with Local 112 out of Elmira, NY for many years until retiring in 2003. In earlier years, He was employed by American LeFrance also in Elmira. Jerry was a private person and will be remembered for his, “that’s a need to know basis.” He appreciated nature and time spent just being outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the local deer and keeping his yard in shape. Jerry also played cards; Euchre was a favorite. Marjorie Jean Renzo, 80, Troy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 31, 2016 with her beloved family at her side. Born on September 20, 1935 in Troy, Marjorie was a daughter of the late Francis and Lulu (Coakley) Wilcox. She married James D. Renzo on September 22, 1956. They shared nearly 60 years together and were blessed with four children, nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband James; a daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Ayers; a son, Joseph (Bernita) Renzo; grandchildren Laurel, Darlene, Jeremy, Harry Bryant Root, Jr., 80, of Granville Summit, passed away at home while surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Sayre on September 9, 1935, Harry was one of thirteen children of the late Harry and Ethel Mae (Dodge) Root. He was a 1953 Graduate of Towanda High School. Harry enjoyed his work as a truck driver for Cummings Lumber of Troy for over 27 years and he was a dependable employee. He will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic; his delivery customers could always count on him. Harry also had many dear friends as co-workers. In early years, he was a truck driver for East Smithfield Farms and Daily. Harry married the former Nancy (Raub) Tice on July 3, 1987 in Southport, NY. Harry enjoyed many interests during his life. He took several fishing and camping trips, was a big NASCAR fan and traveled to races at Pocono and Daytona. Most importantly, he cherished times shared with his beloved family. Steve passed away at age 56 surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was born May 7, 1960 to the late Charles and Doris Robbins.
Steve is survived by his wife, Karen, of 30 years; his daughter, Kelsey Harwood and her husband Brian; daughter, Colby Robbins; son, Travis Robbins and Travis' long time girlfriend Jessica Payne; Jeffery Renzo, 53, Troy, PA passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Darway Healthcare Center in Estella. Born on august 18, 1962 in Troy, Jeffery Allen was a son of James and Marjorie (Wilcox) Renzo of Troy. He was a member of the 1980 graduating class of Troy High School and also served in the U.S. Army. Times shared with family and friends at get-togethers and reunions were very special to Jeffery. He also liked hunting and everything about cars. In addition to his parents, surviving are a sister and brother; Kathleen Ayres of Columbia Cross Roads and Joe Renzo of Canton. Also many friends and staff at Darway. He was predeceased by his brother John Renzo. His family will have private services for Jeffery at a later date.
