Larry was born on November 30, 1940, at the family homestead in Ward Township, Canton, PA. He was the eldest of three children in the family of the late Maxwell T. and Lealtha “Sally” (Woodward) Dunbar.
On November 5, 1960, he married the love of his life, MaryLou Wesneski. Together they were blessed with 41 years together until her death in September 2001.
Larry was a devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, and “Poppy.” He was always available with advice, usually adding in one of his famous idioms. Although, he was very strong-willed and determined he was also a generous man and usually always had a sort of crooked smile on his face.
He possessed an extremely strong work ethic all of his life. He began work at the young age of nine, when he was a live-in farm hand for Russell Anderson. He was always an outdoors kind of man and extremely knowledgeable about all species of trees.
Through the years, he worked various jobs dealing with wood including skidding logs with a horse named Fred and later as a log truck driver for Cummings Lumber. He also worked for Lycoming Construction, in which he had a small hand in the formation of Route 15 in Steam Valley.
