He was born on November 8, 1945 in Springfield, MA a son of the late Merrell and Betty Lou (Fay) Freeman.
He graduated from Canton Area High School and was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the US Army. Bill worked on the family farm before being employed at the A&P Plant in Horseheads, NY for 16 years.
He then worked for Ward Manufacturing for 18 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and traveling to New England and the western United States.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Bill is survived by a son: Russell (Kelly) Freeman of Northfield, NJ, sister: Linda (Don) Snyder of Millerton, PA, two grandsons and a great grandson. In keeping with his wishes services will be private.
