William "Bill" McCarty

William “Bill” McCarty, 63, longtime resident of Shunk, PA passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017 at home while surrounded by his loving family.
    Born August 25, 1953 in Williamsport, William Raymond was one of 13 children of the late Francis and V. Elfreda (Snell) McCarty.  
    He was a 1971 graduate of Sullivan County High School.  
     On May 18, 1996, Bill married the love of his life in Shunk, the former Catherine Mix (affectionally known to Bill as “Cookie”). They shared 21 years of marriage and raised five children.
    Bill was employed by Formula 1 Feeds Company in New Albany for many years until his retirement in 2015.  In addition to his devotion to family and home, Bill was an avid and knowledgeable outdoorsman.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking.

        Surviving are: wife Catherine at home;  children; Stacia (and Tom) Politsky, Kresgeville, PA, Danielle (and Jeff) Manahan, New Albany, William F. (and Jody) McCarty, Shunk, Misty (and Justin) Cott,  Blacklick, OH, Patrick (and Chrissy) McCarty, Troy; 11 grandchildren; two brothers and seven sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends, Randy and Peggy Bagley, Zane and Becky Bagley all of Shunk.
    Besides his parents, William was predeceased by a sister and two brothers. 
    A celebration of Bill’s life and a time of sharing memories will be held at a later date.  Burial will be private.
