Nicole Denise Ferris Keefe, 43, Duncannon, PA, passed away February 12, 2015 at her Penn Twp. home, surrounded by her family, after losing her battle with cancer.
Born January 16, 1972 in Tunkhannock, PA, she is the daughter of Kevin and Helen (Waltman) Ferris of New Albany, PA.

She was a 1990 graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School; graduated from Mansfield University in 1994 with a BS in Nursing and earned her masters degree in 2013.
Following in the footsteps of her grandmother Maggie Ferris, Nicole took nursing to heart. Over her career she worked in elder care, also as a cardiac pre/post op ICU nurse and most recently at SCA Grandview Surgical and Laser Center in Camp Hill as a pre/post op nurse until her illness prevented her from caring for others.
September 3, 1994 Nicole married Kevin M. Keefe, the love of her life, and together they had four sons. Kevin and Nicole where high school sweethearts and had dated for 6 years prior to marriage.
The center of Nicole's life were her sons and her family. Whatever her sons were participating in, there you would find Nicole. Whether it was in the stands cheering for Travis to stride a little harder in track or cross country, on the side of the wrestling mat cheering for Kaleb to get a pin, on the baseball diamond cheering for Zach to make that pitch, or on the gridiron cheering for Ryan to make that tackle, she was there.......her boys were her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed photography and gardening. Being raised on the family farm, Nicole had a passion for dairy farmers and the industry and a great love for her horses. The next time you hear a Tim McGraw song, think of Nicole and "Live Like You Were Dying."
In addition to her parents, Nicole is survived by husband Kevin; sons, Travis (17), Kaleb (13), Zachary (10) and Ryan (9); brother, Calvin Ferris and wife Susan, Collegeville, PA,; mother-in-law, Judith Looney and husband William, Wyalusing, PA; father-in-law Edward Keefe and wife Dianne, New Albany PA; brothers-in-law, Brian Keefe and wife Jeryl, Danielsville PA, Cassidy Shults, Hazelton, PA, and Timothy Shults,Troy; sisters-in-law Melissa Keefe, Wyalusing PA, Michelle Ross and husband James, and Ann Bryan, Canton; aunts and uncles, Eloise (Keith) Corson, Lucille (Eugene) Helmick, Eugene C. Ferris, Earl (Cindy) Bouse, Ike (Debbie) Bouse, Jan (Garn) Stoddard, Reta (Dave) Manley, Lois (Ron) Hugo, Janet (Francis) Schrann and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents,Ivan and Mae Waltman, Paternal grandparents, Eugene and Margaret Ferris, Aunt Clara Waltman, brother-in-law Bret Keefe and sister-in-law Janice Baumer.
Funeral services were held at on February 17, 2015 at Boyer Family Funeral Home, Duncannon, PA with Rev. Richard Berg officiating.
Burial was February 18th in Hillcrest Cemetery, New Albany, PA.
In lieu of flowers, an education fund for Nicole's boys has been established.
