Thelma Grace Horton Hilliker, 88, Ghent, PA, Sheshequin Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday evening, December 6, 2016 following declining health.
Thelma was born at home in Sheshequin Township on July 5, 1928 as the daughter of Ernest and Luella Platt Horton. She grew up and lived on the family homestead and was a graduate of Ulster High School, Ulster, PA and the Allentown Bible Institute, Allentown, PA. In her early adult years, Thelma was employed by Sylvania Electric in Towanda, PA. On July 19, 1958, she married Floyd Frederick Hilliker in North Rome, PA and together they raised their family on the homestead.
Thelma lived her life according to her Christian beliefs and values and served the Lord in various capacities as musician and children’s Sunday school teacher at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in
Sayre and the Ghent Gospel Chapel. Additionally, she did Christian community outreach for the elderly.

Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who possessed tremendous love for her family with whom she loved spending time with. She will be fondly remembered for her passion for baking, cooking, canning, preserving, quilting, sewing, embroidery, crocheting, and tatting.
Surviving are her children and spouses, Marc and Jodie Hilliker of Sayre, Anita and Fred Light of Rome, Dorla and Joe Randall of Granville Summit, Daniel and Rhonda Hilliker of Fayetteville, NC; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Ellery Horton and wife Myrna of Idaho, Doris Lindsey of Towanda, Clair Horton and wife Marjory of Athens; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Floyd Frederick Hilliker on November 15, 2007, and siblings, Muriel Lafy and Emerson Horton.
A memorial service and celebration of Thelma’s life was held December 10, 2016, at the Ghent Gospel Chapel.
