Stephen Leslie Jr. was born August 21,1958 at Cherry Point Marine Corp Air Station in North Carolina. He was a son of the late Sgt. Stephen and Lois (Wilson) Ribovich. As a young man, Stevie, as he was affectionally referred to by his parents, attended Canton Area Schools and graduated with the class of 1976. He later was employed by Lonza Inc. in Williamsport for many years until retiring.
Ribo was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge, Deer X-ing Marine Corp League in Ralston and the NRA. He was a true rifleman, avid precession shooter and competed in several competitions. Steve loved the outdoors, hunting and especially Jeep’n on the Band Rock / Rock Run areas located near his beloved Ralston.
He also enjoyed bowling with his father, times at the beach and basically all nature had to offer. Ribo was a handyman who loved to tinkering around the house and on his vehicles. Throughout life, he will be remembered as a reliable friend and family-man, always willing to help anyone in time of need.
Surviving are his two children, Dawn (Bobby) Grant of San Antonia,TX and Matt and (Krystal) Ribovich of Johnston, CO, his companion, Deb Bell of Ralston, four grandchildren, Bobby Jr., Caitlin and Aiden Grant, Victoria Ribovich, a brother Tod Ribovich, close friends, Jim Bloom, Jeff Krerr and Dale Boop, several uncles, aunts, cousins and his cat, Sassy.
Besides his parents, Steve was predeceased by a brother, Robert in 1960.
In keeping with Steve’s wishes all services will be private. The Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, Inc., 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton, PA., is assisting the family with arrangements.
