Shirley was born on a farm near Estella, PA, on July 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Arley and Anna (Osler) Kay Day. On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Earl Bruce Warburton, who predeceased her on November 10, 2002. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Shirley loved to talk and laugh and had a great interest in all that was going on around her. She was active as a 4-H leader and participated in her church choir and the Women's' Guild. Some of her best memories were of taking care of/spending time with her grandchildren. She and her late husband, Earl, we're life-long dairy farmers on their farm in Forks Twp. Along with their son, Jim. After Earl's passing, grandson Brian and his family resided with Shirley.
They were a joy to her and a great help as she aged. Shirley's oldest grandson and wife (Bruce and Sandi) live across the road from Shirley and she loved the time they spent with her and their care of her.
She was predeceased by siblings: Bruce Day, Ina Avery, Irene Fiester, Gene Day, and Jule Driscoll.
A Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Warburton Hill Cemetery, with her former pastor, Rev. Robert Martin, officiating.
A dinner in celebration of her life, for family and friends, was held on Saturday, November 25, at St. Paul’s Church, Overton, PA.
