Sharon and Mike built their life together in Towanda, raising four children and dedicating themselves to a range of community activities. With a passion for children, Sharon provided day care in their home for nearly a decade, from the early 1970s until about 1981. Sharon delighted in surrounding herself with children and took as much pride in watching her “Mrs. Miller’s kids” grow up as she did in her own children.
Sharon eventually returned to work at the Commonwealth Telephone Company where she remained until retiring in February of 1999. Sharon was a devoted member of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Towanda, the Altar and Rosary Society and was an active volunteer and supporter of church activities and events. Most of all, Sharon was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She will be remembered for her kind and gracious personality, as well as her homemade baked goods, including English muffin bread, peanut brittle, and strawberry and peach jam.
