Born December 25,1943, Shari was raised in Rochester NY. She was the daughter of Joseph and Betty Hill. She entered the workforce after high school at the Eastman Kodak Co. but her love for horses led to a second career of buying and selling horses as well as western tack and cowboy clothing.
In 1962 she purchased her first motorcycle and enjoyed taking many trips on her “iron ponies”. All in all, she raised and sold over 500 horses and owned at least 10 motorcycles. Later, Shari helped neighborhood children by starting a 4-H club, teaching horsemanship and taking these kids to every function possible involving horses and amusement parks. She built a restaurant and western store catering not only to truckers, but to motorcycle riders, rodeo riders, backyard horse owners and country western dances.
When Shari moved to Canton with Marinus on the farm, she started rescuing abused horses and formed another 4-H horse club and her western store.
Shari’s passion for life and animals have left a memorable impression on many who will cherish knowing her.
She is predeceased by her father, Joseph Hill and mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Hill.
Surviving are husband, Marinus deBruin; son Mark O’Neal, both of Canton; brother, Thomas Hill, Marcedon, NY and sister Debra Hill of Lakeland, FL.
