Byron Eugene was born on Oct. 6, 1969 in Towanda, Pa. He was a son the late Bradley Eugene May and his wife Sharon and the late Rose Marie (Holloway) Sentyz and her husband, Charlie.
Byron was a graduate of Canton High School, class of 1988. Shortly following graduation, he enlisted in the National Guard. He would continue his service with the U.S. Army being a proud decorated veteran, serving our country overseas for multiple tours.
In earlier years, Byron enjoyed working outside with his hands and was employed by area dairy farms learning about life and a strong work ethic. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved shooting and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Linda and step-children all of Dunnellon, Florida, three daughters, Caitlynn and Morgan May and Karissa (Blair) Bennett, his newborn grandson, Brycen, a brother, Boyd (Julie) May of Canton, a sister Debra (Donnie Jr.) Sharp of Granville Summit, uncles and aunts, Barbara (Dale) Machmer and Beverly Griffin all of Canton, Brent (Pat) May of Granville Summit and Walter Beers of Troy, several step-siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other extended family in Azores.
Besides his parents, Byron was predeceased by his grandparents, C. Eugene and M. Marie May and an uncle, Gary Griffin.
Family invites friends to attend a memorial service to honor Byron’s life 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Pepper Funeral Home & Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton.
