
Sarah was born on January 26, 1916 in Wetona, daughter of the late E.J. and Maude (Storch) Young.
She began her working career in the silk mill in Towanda, and later became an LPN and worked for Troy Community Hospital for many years.
Sarah was a lifelong member of the Wetona United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, the Troy Community Hospital’s Retired Nurses Association, W.C.T.U., bowled in the Afternoon Ladies League, and was a member of the grange.
Surviving are her children: Patricia (Robert) Kellogg, Conesus, NY, Douglas (Helen) Leiby, Troy, and Wilson “Bill” (Karen) Leiby, Wetona; grandchildren: Carol (Tom), Mick (Victoria), Linda (Sandy), Todd, and Tracey (Tim); nineteen great grandchildren,; several great-great grandchildren; sister Nathalie Stroud, Lititz, PA, several nieces and nephews; her dog Benji, and her special caregiver Chris Bailey. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Millard, her grandson William Kellogg, and her brothers Charles and Cliff Young.
The funeral service to honor Sarah’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 21st at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Joshua Davinsizer officiating.
Burial will be private in Wetona Cemetery.
