Sandra J. Jones, 75, of Troy, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Sandra Jane Boyd Jones was born January 28, 1940 in Gleason, PA, one of six children of the late Robert and Eva (Elliot) Boyd. She was a graduate of Canton High School Class of 1957. On November 30, 1958, Sandra married Harry Jones at the Grover Church of Christ. They shared over 56 years together and were blessed with five children. |
Sandy was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She kept an inviting, comfortable home and especially enjoyed interior decorating, sewing, cooking, baking and crocheting. Sandy also had several pet birds, cats and dogs that she loved to pamper. She was a woman guided by her love for the Lord and was a long-time and active member of the Grover Church of Christ. In earlier years, Sandy also enjoyed working at Eureka, American Silk Label and The Dinner Bell Restaurant.
In addition to her husband Harry, surviving are her children, Deb (Tom) Brown of Castile, NY, Carol (Larry) Wright of Mt. Wolf, PA, Sharon (Douglas) Schucker of Troy, Don Jones of York and David (Becky) Jones of Burlington; 14 grandchildren, Marc (CarolAnn) Fitzwater of Camp LeJeune, NC, Luke (Sarah) Fitzwater of Livonia, NY, Kristen Wright (Ed Gossman) of York, Jacob, Clayton and Adam Schucker all of Troy, Nicole Jones (Chris Geibe) of Columbia, PA, Brandon Jones (Cortney Fowler) of York, Sondra Jones of Watsontown and Tarah, Amanda, Dynah, Levi and Leonna Jones all of Burlington; two step grandchildren, Michael (Char) Wright of Blossburg and Cynthia (Todd) Smutz of Aurora, CO.; six great-grand children, Adrianna and Hunter Fitzwater, twins Addison and Kaylee Fitzwater, Abigail Wright and Aubree Rose Geibe and five step great-grandchildren, Cody, Maelee, Richard, Lillian and Clara; siblings, Frank (Eileen) Boyd of Harrisburg, Denny (Vickie) Boyd of LeRoy, Larry (Karen) Boyd of Buckeye, AZ, Doris Hulslander of Mansfield and Betty (Allen) Taylor of Canton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Fred Hulslander.
Calling hours are 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Grover Church of Christ. Pastor Will Strunk will officiate the funeral service at 12:30 followed by burial in Beech Flats Cemetery.
