Roy was born April 27, 1924 in Wellsboro, PA son of the late Lee William and Alaf (Bryant) Cummings. He was a graduate of Wellsboro High School.
Roy’s business life was manufacturing Hardwood lumber primarily for the furniture industry. That process started with harvesting mature trees and ended with sawing lumber to strict standards for his customers. Roy led his company with sustainable forest management principals to assure landowners would grow quality timber for harvest in future years. During his career Roy was honored to be selected as a director of the National Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association.
He is survived by his wife, A Margaret, and sons, Roy W. (Kim) Cummings Jr., Lee P. (Nancy) Cummings and Gary R. (Doris) Cummings, all of Troy; stepdaughters Meralee (Keith) deClercq, Erieville, NY, Sherri Gillette (Tony Maldonado), Colorado Springs, CO, Lori (Brad) Ingram, Sunset Beach, NC and Peggy Lee (Duane) Stevens, East Smithfield, PA.; grandchildren, Chip (Mary) Cummings, Scott Cummings and his friend Robyn, Jay Cummings, Rochelle (Vaughn) Kendall, Doug (Jennifer) Cummings, Amy (David) Wilkes, Corrie Cummings and Casine Cummings; great grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Jay, Aahleisia, Ashley, Katie, Delaney, Corbin, Evan, Laura, Hailey, Kara, Owen, Kennedy and Morgan; step-grandchildren, Kim (Drew) Smith, Chelsie (Sam) Gillette, Lori (David) Brown, Brooke (Jason) Farry, Kristi (Joel) Godec, Jessica and Tom Stevens; step great-grandchildren Andrew, Kristofer, Levi, Joseph, Benjamin, Isaac, Austin, Sydney, Colton.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Edna, Nina and Ralph.

A Masonic service will be held at 5 o’clock immediately followed by the memorial service with Reverend Kenneth Marple of the Austinville and Covert Church officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Glenwood Cemetery.
