Roy A. Hemenway, 82, Wellsboro, passed away July 28, 2016, at DarWay Nursing Home, Forksville.
He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Grover, the son of Hess and Rosemary Wright Hemenway.
Roy was a retired carpenter and a United States Army veteran. He attended the Cherry Flats Baptist Church, served as a Red Cross Instructor and was a member of the Wellsboro Fire Department, where he volunteered as an ambulance driver for 34 years.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Geraldine Irwin; four sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Elaine, Wellsboro, Earl and Dottie, Denton, Md., Tom and Stacy, Wellsboro, Allyn and Deborah of Wellsboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Noel Carter, Martinsville, Va., Violet and Garry Bolt, Ypsilanti, Mich., Vickie and Gordon Jackson, Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Roger Schultz, Blossburg; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Carl in 1966 and his brother, Wesley.
Funeral services were held August 1 at the James Carleton Funeral Home, Wellsboro, with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Hills Creek Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his son, Carl in 1966 and his brother, Wesley.
