Born on Feb. 20, 1964 in Sayre, PA to the late Robert “Bob” and Lois (Laninger) Stone. He and his wife Sue married on May 21, 2016.
Ron or “Stoney” to most was a fun-loving man who enjoyed music, playing Euchre, hunting (Flintlock being his favorite season) and spending time with his wife at Camp, a special little place on Armenia Mountain where he could relax watching the campfire and enjoy the company of his wife and a special group of friends and family. Ron looked forward to a chicken BBQ held every year on Labor Day weekend when the small camp seemed huge with many friends and family.
Stoney will be greatly missed by many including his pets, Ember and Shadow a beautiful pair of pups that he and Sue adopted as well as Bum their cat.
Ron was a 1982 graduate of Canton Area High School. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 303, a social member of VFW Post 714 both of Canton, a social member of the Morris Run American Legion Post 167 and a member for many years of the Canton Moose Lodge No. 429. Ron worked at Canton Manufacturing until their closure when he and Sue moved to Hallstead, PA area to continue working for the company in their Kirkwood facility Felchar Manufacturing.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a brother, Terrance Miller and a nephew, Terry Spencer.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Pepper Funeral Home 578 Springbrook Dr. in Canton. Rev. Herbert Eby will officiate a memorial service to honor Ron’s life following calling hours at 1p.m.
