Richard E. Spencer Sr., 77, of Mainesburg, Pa., passed away, Feb. 5, 2017 at The Green Home in Wellsboro, Pa.
Richard was born June 9, 1939, in Sayre, Pa., the son of Donald and Mildred Mosier Williams.
In early years, Richard worked as a logger for Daniel Jackson and as an automotive mechanic. He was later employed as a mechanic in the oranges groves in Florida for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Benson Spencer; children, Richard Spencer Jr. (Eunice), Columbia Cross Roads, Penny Yaich (Mark), Coopersburg, Pa., Rodney Spencer (Ginger), Mainesburg, Jamie Spencer (Candy), Mainesburg, Jenny Benjamin (Layton), Troy and Tiffany Spencer (Kimberly), Gillett; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Steven Spencer and Shawn Spencer; grandson, Joshua Spencer; brother, Leslie Spencer; and sisters, Nina Snodgrass and Donna Stewart.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at Bradford County Memorial Park, Burlington Township, Pa.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda, Pa. There are no calling hours.
