
Dick was born March 5, 1937 in Shunk to Lester Morgan and Mary (Bohart) Morgan.
After moving to Canton, he graduated from Canton High School and married Christine (Ambs) Rice in 1955 and had a long care in the town as a carpenter, handyman, railroad station worker, farmhand, butcher, and mechanic.
He was known for his jokes and ready helping hand to family and friends.
Mr. Morgan was a long time member of the Canton Moose and competed in many horseshoe tournaments. He also was a lifetime member of the Canton Fire Department.
Dick was known for his love of antique tools and machines. He constantly puttered around his yard on one of his tractors and could often be found in his garage fixing their motors. He had many other hobbies, including playing horseshoes, hunting, challenging friends at card games, bowling, listening to old country music, and playing with his grandbabies.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Mary; three brothers, Harold Morgan and sister-in-law, Shirley Morgan, Canton; Harmon Morgan, Gillett; Morris Morgan and Deanna Morgan of Mansfield; a sister, Geraldine (Morgan) Rathbun, Canton and son-in-law, Mark Hurd.
Memorial services will be held at the Ward United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 1 at 1 pm with Pastor Gerald Schmidt officiating.
The family will celebrate his life with some of Dick's favorite fudges and desserts afterward to remember his sweet-tooth and tell their favorite stories about him.
