On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 14th, 2018, Reuben W. Barrett, Jr., of Troy Township passed away unexpectedly while harvesting timber. He was 78 years of age.
Born March 2nd, 1940 in Troy he was the son of Reuben W Barrett, Sr., and Myrtle V. (Perry) Barrett. Reuben was a man accustomed to hard work, and over the years he had worked for PennDOT, General Electric, the Leona Meat plant and for Bradford County as the caretaker of Sunfish Pond Park. But his profession of choice was logging. He enjoyed the feeling of independence that one feels when working close to nature. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, camping and wood working.

Reuben is survived by his wife of forty years, the former Beverlee Howell, at home, sons Reuben “Shorty” (& Laura) Barrett III, of Troy, Richard (& Mary) Barrett of Checkerville, Mark Barrett of Luther’s Mills, Larry (& Missy) Barrett of Columbia Cross Roads, Laverne Barrett of Towanda, Jeff (& Kim) Barrett of Waverly, NY, Roy Barrett (& friend Chelsea) of Morris Run, Eric Barrett (& fiancée Kayla Brown) of Troy, Robert (& Wanda) Johnson of Granville Summit, Theodore (& Tammy) Johnson of MD, daughters Tina (& Michael) Losey of Troy, Brenda McCollum of Lancaster, Patty (& Donald) Hoose of NC, Cindy (& Gary) Tid of FL, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
