Renee Chilson, 52, of Luthers Mills, passed away at home while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Renee Ann Scott Chilson was born September 16, 1962 in Blossburg, a daughter of the late John Duane Scott and Viola May (Scott) Bump. On August 25, 1989, she married Keith Chilson in Troy. Family and home always came first in Renee’s life and they were blessed with three children. She was employed in housekeeping at the Bradford County Manor for 17 years and served as president of their AFSCME Union. Later Renee worked in Robert Packer Hospital’s housekeeping dept. Times shared with family and friends were her favorite. Renee also loved to go dancing and shopping.

In addition to her devoted husband, Keith Sr., surviving are her children; Nicole (Kyle) Decker of Towanda, Mindy Chilson (Fiancé, Joseph Bates) of Athens and Keith Jr. (Corinne) Chilson of Troy who is currently serving our country in Korea; eight grandchildren, Julia, Nicholas, Emilee, Lee, Marlee, Dawson, Addaleigh and Everleigh; two siblings, Rose Scott of Troy and Robert (Kimberly) Scott of Niagara Falls; step-father, George Bump of Towanda; a very dear friend, Louise Luckman of Milan and a host of friends who loved her very much.
She was predeceased by her father John on Feb. 17, 1987, her mother Viola on Sept. 25, 2010 and a brother, Ronald Allan Scott on Sept. 11, 2013.
Her brother, Rev. Robert Scott, officiated a memorial service to celebrate Renee’s life on Friday, Jan. 9, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr. Canton.
Burial will be in East Canton Cemetery at a later date.
