Reba Elnora Smith was born December 23, 1931 in Canton, one of five children of the late Lemuel M. and Myrtle M. (Bastian) Smith.
She was a graduate of Canton High School and on September 6, 1953 she married Robert G. Shepard at the Grover Church of Christ. Her beloved Robert preceded her in death on February 6, 2000 following 46 years of marriage.
Reba was a farmer at heart. She raised veal calves at the family’s farm for over 20 years retiring in the early 1990’s. Her main interests were the love of her Lord, home, family and she especially was devoted to all her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Grover where she
and husband, Robert will be remembered for singing in the church’s choir. More recently she attended the Grace Community Church in Columbia Cross Rds. Reba was also a member of Canton’s Music Club and enjoyed her morning coffee, gardening, attending to her flower beds, jigsaw puzzles and playing scrabble.
Besides her parent’s and husband, she was predeceased by, three siblings, Leatrice Hill, George Smith and Lucille Terry.
Rev. David Baxter and her grandson, Pastor Dylan Pepper will officiate the funeral service in celebration of Reba’s life at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Drive, Canton. The family invites friends to call 10 a.m. to noon Saturday prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Grover Cemetery.
