Phyllis was born in Canton on September 30, 1932 to the late Rozell and Ruth (Bolt) Porter. Phyllis obtained her bachelor’s degree from Grove City College. She was a homemaker. She also had worked for Hawk’s Department Store, Temp. Force and had been a substitute teacher. Phyllis was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. When she was younger she had a love for horses and owned a horse. She earned many awards with her horse. Phyllis was very active with The Hershey Community Chorus, where she would travel extensively throughout Europe. She enjoyed going to The Hershey Theatre and traveling to various nursing homes to perform for the residents. She and her late husband, Brad, enjoyed going to the movies and traveling throughout the world. Her hobbies included reading, cross stitch, and playing piano.
A private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing was held on Sunday at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville.
