Patricia Anne “Pat” Haxton Spencer was born in Canton, PA September 23, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Willis and Marjorie (Davis) Haxton.
Pat was a 1950 graduate of Canton High School and was instrumental in naming CHS’s Yearbook, the Minnequan. She was married to Dan T. Spencer for 53 years before his passing on Nov. 25, 2003.
Pat’s life revolved around her devotion to family, home and friends. She possessed a great faith in the Lord, His teachings guided her days. She was a member of the Alba First Christian Church and attended Windfall’s United Methodist Church. Pat was an active member of the United Methodist Women’s Group.
Surviving are seven children; Sherry Zoller, Troy, Dan, II (Sharon) Spencer, Granville Summit, Deb Stanton (Brian Selleck), Burlington, Pat (Dave) Schucker, Columbia Cross Roads, Nan (John) Estep, Troy, Dennis (Becky) Spencer and Desiree (Doug) Rockwell all of Granville Summit; 17 grandchildren; Bethany, Andrew, Allison, Scott, Brian, Amy, Christopher, Nicholas, Jeremey, Natalie, Travis, Tracy, Tyler, Nathan, Emily, Jordan and Lydia; four step-grandchildren; Courtney, Shane, Jessica and Randy; 22 great grandchildren, three siblings; Jackie Spencer, Canton, Linda Hazelton, New Mexico and Lee (Sandy) Haxton, Chemung, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Dean Cole, Kendall, NY, Robert (Jane) Spencer, Trout Run, Viola McIlwain, Roaring Branch and Bonnie Spencer of Florida; several nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors.
In addition to her husband Dan, Pat was predeceased by her grandson, Craig E. Stanton on Nov. 18, 2003, two sisters; Joan Cole and Sandy Hurlburt and an infant brother, Willis Haxton.
Pastor Josh Davinsizer will officiate a memorial service at the Windfall United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 with calling hours prior from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be in Grover Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
