Michael was born April 26, 1932 in Scranton son of the late John & Stella (Budjinski) Chopak, Sr. Mike was a graduate of local schools and attended two years of college. He served his country with the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
Survivors include his wife Frances C. Chopak of Troy, his son Michael G. Chopak of Alba, a daughter and son-in-law, Merilu & Rev. William O’Dell of Holland, NY, step-children, David & Judy Johnston of Columbia Cross Roads, Doreen Wandell & Bob Jamison of Elmira Heights, Brenda & Kevin Kipferl of Millerton, Brian & Heather Johnston of Gillett; grandchildren, Aaron & Debra O’Dell of Freeport, PA, Bradley & Jamie O’Dell of Levittown, PA, Emily & Todd Doring of Cheektowaga, NY, step-grandchildren, Jordan Johnston of Troy, Devin Wandell, Derick (Amanda Keith) Wandell , Kasey Wandell all of Elmira, NY, Shante & Bryant Tranchant of Horseheads, NY, Brittany Berbary of Elmira, NY, Brandon Johnston and Chase Johnston both of Gillett, three great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene & Joseph Jakes of Clark Summit, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and a brother Joseph Chopak.
