Marjorie Yeager, 86, of Slocum Twp., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Med Center. Born and raised in Canton, Pa she was a daughter of the late Elwin and Grace ( McKee ) Porter.
Marjorie was a graduate of the Canton High School and a 1952 Graduate of Mansfield State Teaching College. She started her teaching career in the Bristol and Levittown, Pa area, and then worked for various school districts in the Wilkes-Barre area. She concluded her teaching career with many years in the Crestwood School District teaching the Remedial Reading Program.
Marjorie was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pond Hill, where she taught Sunday school and also served in various roles within the church. She loved cooking, gardening, the outdoors, High School sports, traveling, going for walks, and her pets.

Marjorie was preceded in death in addition to her parents; her husband John. They were married 51 years having married in 1959 until his death in 2010.
Marjorie is survived by sons John P Yeager and his companion Mary Phillips, Scranton, and Dwight Yeager and his companion Craig Garcia, Kailua, Hawaii; brother Charles; sisters Joyce, Anita, and Beverly, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Service was held on November 22nd, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pond Hill, with Pastor Debra North officiating. Interment followed in the Pond Hill Cemetery.
