Marjorie L. Close, 97, Troy, formerly of Morris, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Broad Acres.
She was born on August 3, 1920 in Rushville, NY, a daughter, of Fred and Mabel (Kohler) Broughton.
Marjorie was the wife of the late John C. Close, Jr., who died on March 25, 2000.
She was member of the Morris United Methodist Church. Marjorie ran the school cafeteria in Gillett, PA, was a cook at the Tioga Co. Jail, and worked at Clarence Baxter's Bakery. She enjoyed gardening.
Marjorie is survived by son, Jack Close, Penn Yan, NY; daughter, Constance Putnam, Troy; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchild; brothers, Donald (Sharon) Broughton, Lawrenceville, PA, Kenneth (Paula) Broughton, Gillette, WY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, George Close; daughter, Jeanne Butler; five brothers and sisters, Jen, Vernon, Jim, Chuck, and Fred.
In keeping with Marjorie's wishes there will be no services.
