Agnes Elizabeth (Dalton)Saunders, 97, Gillett, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital.
She was always known as “Elizabeth” and was born on Nov. 12, 1920, in Harford County, Maryland. She was the eldest daughter of Charles and Ethel Dalton.
She married LaRue Saunders on July 9th, 1941, at the Troy Baptist Church in Troy. LaRue and Elizabeth were married for 44 years and resided on the family farm in Gillett, PA. Together, they raised 2 sons and 3 daughters.
She is survived by son, David (Barbara) Saunders; daughter, Shirley (James) Call; sister, Mary Ellen (Daniel) O’Neil; brothers, Robert (Janet) Dalton, John Thomas (Barbara) Dalton; son- in-law David Kendall; daughter-in-law Cleo Osgood; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband LaRue, Daughter Bette Kennedy, daughter Linda Kendall, Son Ronald Saunders, siblings Charles “Buddy” Dalton, and Lucille Hamby.
The funeral was held on March 14 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. Elmira, NY with The Reverend Mickey Cavanaugh officiating.
Graveside committal prayers were shared following the funeral service in the Gillett Cemetery.
