Lester C. Maynard, 89, Gillett, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at the Towanda Memorial Skilled Nursing facility.
Lester was born on May 11, 1927 in Gillett, son of the late Cola and Mae (Wright) Maynard.
Lester was also predeceased by his wife, Bertha, in 2012.
Lester retired as a truck driver for Cargill in Big Flats, NY.

Lester is survived by his daughter, Beverly (Lloyd) Hite, Canton; sons, Rev. Donald (Edith) Maynard, Canisteo, NY, Melvin (Norreen) Maynard of Simpsonville, SC, and Bruce (Rebecca Wheaton) Maynard, Gillett; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother, Lynn Maynard, Gillett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home with his son, the Reverend Donald Maynard, officiating. Interment took place Feb. 25 in Gillett Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to the Gillett Baptist Church.
