
Leon Claude Tillotson was born in Canton, on November 4, 1919. He was one of nine children of the late Paul and Maude Tillotson. His wife is the former Vivian Woodard.
Tilly possessed a strong work ethic all his life. He enjoyed being a self-employed logger for many years and later worked in the coal mining business for Jones & Brague Mining Co. Special times to Tilly were shared with his family and friends, especially many summertime picnics.
Surviving are his wife Vivian; children, Paul Tillotson, Canton, Katherine Tillotson Smith of New Jersey, Grant (Diane) Tillotson, Harrisburg and Dave (Margie) Tillotson, Canton; thirteen grandchildren, Steve, Shelly, Rick, Jeff, Sharon, Brian, Bradley, Paul, Debbie, Susan, Grant, Robbie and Lisa; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernestine Herman, Ella Mae Yaggie, Annalee Wright and Louis Tillotson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by four siblings, Aletha Wright, Morrell, William and Dean Tillotson, two granddaughters, two daughters-in-law and a son-in-law.
As per Tilly’s wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Those who wish may consider a memorial in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St. Williamsport, PA 17701. Pepper Funeral Home in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.
