Larry J. Packard, 71, Williamsport, died March 25, 2016, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 25, 1944, in Towanda, he was a son of the late N. Raymond and Vera (Nesbitt) Packard.
Larry graduated from Canton High School. Following graduation he was a Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He sailed around the world on the Enterprise. He later graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with an associate’s degree. Larry was employed with Northrup-Grumman in environmental compliance and quality control. He also worked for Susquehanna Wire Rope as a supervisor and later retired from the produce department at Wegmans.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1 and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Forty & Eight Voiture No. 382. Larry enjoyed working in the flower gardens, going to flea markets and craft shows with his wife, playing washers with his family and dancing. Most of all he cherished sitting on the patio enjoying nature.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Judith J. (Wright) Packard are son, Seth N. Packard and daughter, Valerie Chaples (Rick), both of Florida; three stepsons, Michael B. Paulhamus (Jen), Scott E. Paulhamus (Kathi), and Todd A. Paulhamus (Dee), all of Williamsport; a stepdaughter, Melissa C. Paulhamus, of Colorado; a brother, Richard Packard (Donna), of Canton, a sister, Linda Patson (Ron), of Lopez; ten grandchildren, Coral Chaples, Kaitlyn Boggs, Jason and Cameron Paulhamus, Brooke and Devon Marshall, Jaren and Arianna Paulhamus, Lilah Marshall, and Ellamarie Wheeland; and special cousin, Marie Kennedy, Elmira.
A memorial service to honor the life of Larry will be announced at a later date.
