Krista (Kilmer) Lepper, 63, Canton, PA passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA. Krista Avis Kilmer was born in Troy on March 8, 1952, one of seven children of the late Willard O. Kilmer and Elizabeth (Cox) Kilmer Route. Krista attended Canton Schools and earned her GED from Troy High School. She later earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from Keystone Jr. College and Wilkes University through the Weekender Program. |
Krista was blessed with a special empathy and she loved her career in social services. For 18 years, she was involved with older adult protective services through BSST Area Agency on Aging in Towanda. Earlier she was a family advocate with Bradford/Tioga County Head Start and an overnight staff member of the Abuse & Rape Crisis Center in Towanda.
Her family was very important in Krista’s life and she cherished her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed going on cruises, cooking and baking, crocheting, crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Krista knew the Lord in her heart and was a member of the Grover Church of Christ.
Surviving are children, Robert A. “Rob” Lepper, Canton, Brian C. Lepper, Williamsport and Shannon M. Pepper (Jared T. Seipel, Kunkletown; grandchildren, Bailey J. Pepper, Hannah L. Pepper and Ethan T. Seipel; siblings, Kathleen (Dale) Best, Canton, Earl (Jolene) Kilmer, N. Fort Myers, FL, Margaret (James) Lewis, Troy, Doris Wood, South Williamsport; Connie Stiner, Canton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father on May 16, 2001; mother on Feb. 27, 2006 and sister, Karen A. Kilmer Swick on July 7, 1985.
The funeral service was held March 16, at Pepper Funeral Home, in Canton with Pastor Will Strunk officiating.
A private burial will be in East Canton Cemetery.
