Kenneth was born on October 18, 1926 in Lincoln Falls, PA a son of the late Ralph and Lelah McCarty Higley. He grew up on the family farm in Lincoln Falls, and would attend Estella School. He continued farming moving to Rome, PA for a few years and then back to his family farm. Around then he met the former Jane English of Binghamton, NY at a square dance at the Wilmot Grange. They were married on April 5, 1952 at the New Era Church, having just celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Kenneth started farming in New Era where he and Jane currently live. He worked as a Terry Township Supervisor for 25 years, having served as past vice-president.
Kenneth was a member of the New Era Methodist Church.
He enjoyed square dancing having traveled all over Pennsylvania and southern New York to square dances. He liked playing pinochle, snowmobiling, swimming, gardening for the family, and mowing lawns. He was an avid hunter, especially deer and turkey.

Forty three grandchildren, ninety great-grandchildren; brothers: Clinton Higley, Laceyville; Myron Higley, Sunbury; Gordon Higley, Las Vegas, NV; Floyd (Sherry) Higley, Montoursville; sister Arlene Brown, East Troy.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal companion Buddy. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers: Donald Higley, Bruce Higley, Dale Higley, two sisters; Helen Brown and Evelyn Stevenson, son-in-law; Jeffrey Vanderpool, and four great-grandchildren; Izeyah Wood, Tyler Wood, Kryssie Jennings, and Dustin Jennings.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Jim Donahue, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wyalusing Cemetery.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, April 23th, 2015 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
