Joe was a man familiar with hard work. For many years he worked as a farmer and later worked at Swayze's and the old Burial Vault Company that used to be in Canton, and also built ribstone silos. In 1965 he served with the United States Army. He was married to the former Mary Porter and last Sept. 5 they celebrated their 25 anniversary. He was also a man who knew the Lord and was a member of the Calvary Alliance Church in Canton. Joe was a soft spoken, easy going man who made friends easily and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation was Tuesday, Apr. 2 from 1-2 p.m. at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center St., Canton, with a service that followed at 2 p.m. Pastor John Ishler officiated. Interment was in Beech Flats Cemetery. (www.morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
